The Wigwam Day Nursery is Reading's premier day Nursery. We provide childcare and education for children from 6 weeks to pre-school. www.thewigwamnursery.co.uk

The Wigwam is a fantastic place to learn and grow – both inside and out! Inside, large airy spaces have been created to complement smaller nooks and crannies, making it perfect for tiny adventures and learning. And outside, from vegetable patches and fruit trees, to mini beast spaces and sensory zones, our beautiful nursery is literally budding with things for your child to enjoy.

🌍 Wigwam celebrated Earth Day! 🌍

In the older rooms, we were talking about how to make our planet a cleaner and healthier place to live and how to take care of the environment. The children were talking about the importance of recycling and then were busy sorting different items to the recycling boxes. ♻️
Our Dancing Deers did lots of junk modelling using recycled materials to show to the children how they can reuse the materials and create something new and interesting with them.
Dancing Deers also made a giant Earth picture by dipping their feet into paint and enjoyed drawing animals using the shadow from the beautiful sun.
Our little scientists made fizzy Earth's using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar with added blue and green colouring!

Our younger children explored different themed sensory tuff trays where they explored sea and and animals alongside dyed rice, foam and moon sand.

This week Wigwam had an 'eggcellent' week celebrating Easter! 🐣
We enjoyed a fantastic range of different activities including baking, exploring tuff trays, egg and spoon races, egg hunts, rabbit bowling, making cards, decorating eggs and even cooking a whole feast of eggs! 🥚
Our annual Easter Bonnet competition was fierce with some amazing contenders, it gets harder every year to choose a winner from each room! Our winners were Margot from Turtles, Roman from Squirrels, Asa from Foxes and Kori from Deers!

Happy Eid to all of our families and friends celebrating over the weekend🌟 🌙
In Wigwam, the children explored a sensory tuff tray filled with exciting textures and materials, helping them learn through hands-on play. The older children also enjoyed listening to a story about Eid, which introduced them to the meaning of the celebration.

Some of us also had some lovely henna, where they had beautiful patterns applied to their hands. They were excited to observe the designs and shared their thoughts with their friends. Through these experiences, the children developed a better understanding of what Eid is and why it is celebrated.

🔴What a 'Redtastic' day we had celebrating Comic Relief's Red Nose Day! We wore our best red outfits and spent the day exploring all things red. 🔴
We made pasta necklaces, explored tuff trays filled with various different red resources, investigated slime, designed our own noses on balloons and enjoyed a special Red Nose biscuit treat made by our chef Kelly!
