Year 3 had a Roman themed day to consolidate their learning from the Summer term.

They were able to wear Roman costumes, and during the day solved the assassination of Julius Caesar, made a reconstruction of Hadrian’s Wall from Lego, learnt about then played the Roman game of Ludus and created their own Roman shields.

A fantastic day was had by all!

We're so proud of our new SEND Resource Base, The Reef, which supports our pupils with social communication needs.

The Reef offers specialist teaching, tailored support and an adapted learning environment, whilst allowing children to learn alongside their peers.

The Reef will expand to 21 places by 2027.

Year 3 have been learning about the artist ‘Giacometti’.
He often created disproportionate sculptures of the human form, elongating their limbs and necks.
They used a range wire to form their sculptures, using wire cutters and pliers to enable them to manipulate it.
To give the effect of a textured bronze, they then used tissue paper and PVA glue to create an outer layer to emulate Giacometti’s designs.

Well done Year 3!

Loddon Primary held their second Community Litter Picking Event today. Pupils and their families ventured out into the local area to collect litter in their community.

The event was a success, and much was collected on the school site and nearby streets.

Thank you to all that participated, well done for looking after your community!

Last week, our second group of year 6 children visited the Isle of Wight for a week of adventure and sunshine. The weather was warm but they had lots of opportunities to cool off in the sea and river, explore in the shade of the woodland and catch a breeze as they reached new heights. We all shared the value of appreciation for the beautiful surroundings which certainly helped us to co-operate, build our resilience and have the best time!

Well done year 6!
