Experimenting with different coloured underpainting-
too loud!?!2nd attempt with oil and palette knife...think underpainting is the way forward regarding foreground info.

Fab day yesterday at Brockhust School at Bellin's expressive palette knife and mixed media painting day where I tried out oils for the first time and put what I learnt into practice this morning.
Hope this conveys the heat of the day and great view from lawn overlooking surrounding Berkshire countryside.

Latest painting inspired by visit to Kew and discovery of the secret beehive garden. Gorgeous wild carrot which I have recreated using granules of watercolour paint.Tricky to do but worth the effort as I think it captures texture and ethereal quality of blossoms.
