THAMES EXPLORER LESSONS - BEETLE & WEDGE, MOULSFORD
90min lesson exploring the beautiful stretch of river upstream of Moulsford. This area is famed for its stunning countryside and rich array of wildlife. These small group lessons are limited to 4 paddlers so you can get personalised coaching throughout the tour.

Lessons include land based safety briefing, kit run through, and paddling techniques according to level. Every lesson is different depending on the group ability. We finish at the Beetle & Wedge where you might well wish to stop for a well earned drink:)

Made it to the local news today:) Promoting awareness on river safety...

Here at SUP On Thames Ltd river safety is always part of any SUP lesson. So it was great to participate in the Royal Berks Fire & Rescue throwline training.

Did you know there is throwline within the emergency post in Pangbourne Meadow by the river by the concrete slipway. Call 999, quote the location and you will be given the code to open the cabinet.

Throw the throwline towards the person in difficulty, just upsteam. Never wrap the rope around your wrist, and remember to keep hold of the rope!

The person in the water should be directed to float on their back and have feet first going downstream. 'Float to Live - described in the ITV coverage posted here...

I joined the brilliant to ‘work the slacks’ as part of their TSK1 training at Kew Bridge … a must for anyone thinking about paddling in tidal waters.
