What an amazing day at Johnson Matthey! They have truly caught our vision in helping to bring science to life for our Year 6 students. Hopefully, we have invested in a new generation of scientists, professors and Data Analysts. A big THANK YOU to Maciah Smith and the team from Johnson Matthey!

Investing in young people is extremely rewarding. The Joshua Academy was excited to work with Farley, the first Black female coach for Westham FC. Her work with students included resilience, the benefits of hard work and how discipline can be the difference between success and failure. Needless to say, she was a true inspiration. Education poverty is a great concern for Black students - especially boys from Caribbean backgrounds. If we can help a few young people to achieve their potential, then our investment will not be in vain. #

The time has come for us to move from meaningful dialogue to meaningful action.

What a great debate! Many thanks to Cllr. Ashley Pearce, Cllr. Ayo Sokale, David Littlemoore, Mary Morris, Victor Koroma, Donna Spence, and Renee Pryce-Jones for the healthy debate on the inclusion of Black History in the National Curriculum. This issue goes beyond History to the matter of inclusion. There is a lot more to do, which requires collaboration between communities, schools, local and national governments to make this happen. Inclusion has to be intentional, it won't happen organically!
