Now my water is no longer mine.

It has been so long since I last posted here.

I was so bogged down with work that I couldn't keep up with my FB page.

It is amazing how quickly 1 day of no posting becomes 1 week and then 1 month or in my case several months.

I have now taken stock and rejigged my life so that I will be able to post tips a couple of times a week.

The first educational post will be tomorrow.

Today, I will be doing my first practical beekeeping session!

Finding the difference by counting on.
This is something that is not really in everyday use anymore, however, when I was a child this is exactly how change in a shop was worked out. Tills did not do it for the shopkeeper.

The cost of an item may have been 57p and £5 was handed over.
The shopkeeper would give you 3p and say that makes 60.
Then count 20p into your hand and say 80p.
Another 20p made one pound.
Finally, they would count out 4 £1 notes (yes, I am ancient) saying 2, 3, 4, 5.

Tills that work out the change have stopped this practice which was brilliant for understanding money.

Yesterday, I asked my grandson if he had had wet play that day.
"Yes," he said.
"Do you stay in your classroom?" I asked.
"No, we went outside." was his response.
"You didn't stay inside?"
No, we had a wet playtime! I told you."

Crossed purposes.
