What an incredible afternoon! Our Orchestra completely brought the house down—or rather, the school grounds—at collection time on Tuesday with some lively African beats to celebrate Black History Month.

Parents and pupils alike were treated to an amazing blend of strings, woodwinds, and energetic drumming, singing, and dancing. The party atmosphere was truly infectious! Huge well done to all our talented musicians and dancers.

Our hall was filled with incredible energy, rhythm, and smiles today at Laleham Lea as we celebrated Black History Month with an amazing day of African drumming workshops.

From our youngest learners right up to Year 6, every single pupil had the chance to play a variety of instruments, including an authentic West African djembe drum, learn about the rich history and storytelling traditions behind the beats, and work together to create incredible music.

The sound of the whole school coming together was truly inspiring. Thank you to Primary Workshops for Schools for delivering such an engaging, inclusive, and memorable cultural experience for our pupils!

Lighting the Path in Reception!

This week, our Reception class has been exploring our new RE scheme, 'Lighting the Path.'

To celebrate, the children created their very own Creation Table to reflect on all of God’s creations.

From colorful flowers and leaves to the starry night sky and fluffy clouds, the children loved using their senses to explore, sort, and display the wonderful world around us.

We are so proud of their curiosity, creativity, and thoughtful discussions about caring for our environment and everything in it!

Year 2 had a blast in music today.
They practiced their rhythm by clapping, tapping, and dancing with partners to Offenbach's "Infernal Gallop" (the Can-Can!). Great energy from everyone, well done Year 2!

Double the fun in Reception today as we explored SYMMETRY!

Our little learners took on some hands-on mirror magic:
• Self-Portraits: Looking closely in mirrors to discover how our eyes, ears, and smiles line up on both sides.
• Completing the Picture: Using mirrors to spot matching halves and draw the missing side of symmetrical images.

Seeing their curiosity and creativity in action was absolute magic, well done Reception!
