Magical night with Chit Chat Art at Redburn Community Hub.
Before our crafts, we had amazing homemade soup and chips - made by volunteers in the morning and available for anyone who drops in!
Continuing on with our paper plate crafts, we made bats! 🦇🦇
For the next activity, we had to channel our magic into special wizard hats which granted the group the ability to fly! ✨💫Thank you Marie Forrest for loaning your ancient heirloom broom for the night🧹
Our group had very impressive natural skills in flying and enchanted hat-making.🧙‍♀️ Thanks everyone for making it a magical night ✨💫

Marr College chit chat art was a huge success. The groups fireside craft included finishing off birdhouses, starting diy Christmas decorations and making our enchanted wizard hats!

The Marr College S2 Group enjoyed the sunshine yesterday.

We had a ~💫magical💫~ time making our wizard hats, helping nature with our bird feeders, team building, learning to fly🧹, exploring the park and cataloguing some more wildlife.

We also expanded our site map and found some deer tracks, good job everyone!

We learnt about experiencing and helping nature with our bird feeders. We had three very unique and creative approaches to construction.

The group was very focused and precise, don't worry we still had time for bacon rolls. Great work everyone!

The group's fireside craft was DIY bird feeders!🦉🐣 Followed by bacon rolls and hot chocolate ☕
Later in the afternoon, the group found litter-covered spots on the beach and filled their bags!

The Marr College S2 Junior Countryside Ranger Award Group finished their site map yesterday!

The group helped out with litter picking, completed team-building exercises, and enjoyed some microscope work. There was also an impromptu game of rugby!
At the campfire, there was fire safety, bacon rolls and s'mores.

We had a brilliant day at Fullarton Woods in Troon last weekend at our outdoor peer support group taster sessions. Thanks to the children, young people and families who came along and enjoyed the day and thanks also to Marie and Gigha from Let’s LOOC for delivering the outdoor activities – we look forward to having a follow up day soon!

Before our crafts, we had amazing soup- made by volunteers in the morning and available for anyone who drops in! Tonight there were also scones!!!

The continued paper plate crafts were in keeping with the theme of the night BEES. 🐝🍯 Our group had a very impressive knowledge of the fuzzy insects. This helped in our interactive games, group quiz and our decorating.

Don't worry, we had time to squeeze in a full game of Bird Bingo!

Peaceful Thursday morning fireside craft. The group measured, formulated then decorated their lip balms, this required a steady hand! The perfect hand made present🎁

The group had a great time doing some more seasonal arts and crafts in the Hub today with DIY blackboard art, upcycled hedgehog crafts and family favourite: Bug Bingo! 🦔🫙🕯️🐛

Had an engaging and fun atmosphere, bug bingo brings out the competitive side in all of us!

After Chit Chat Art the Marr College S2/3 group volunteered at a local community project.

The pupils gave up their free time to sort clothes at The Micah Project Troon, a community closet that is currently very busy with its Christmas drive.

It was very interesting to learn about the great work Micah does for the community and the environment!

The volunteers had a fantastic time and did an amazing job, well done!

Applications for The Prince’s Foundation’s Building Arts Programme 2023, which inspires future generations of artists, craftspeople, designers and makers, close at 12 noon on Monday 21 November.

The nine-month course enables students from a broad range of discipline areas to learn together while exploring the interdisciplinary nature of architecture, the decorative arts and traditional crafts, and the role these practices can continue to play in shaping the world around us.

The Building Arts Programme is a fully-funded course run in collaboration with QEST and supported by Ecclesiastical (part of Benefact Group) and others.

Tuesday afternoon - Lip balm making at the Bothy! 🧼
The group learned about natural ingredients and cosmetic chemistry, especially how to negotiate melting temperatures. Perfect day for inside crafts and personalising homemade Christmas gifts ❄️
Later in the afternoon, we helped out at a community project sorting clothes.
