It’s very easy to direct a pupil on HOW to say a line but that makes lazy actors and an okay performance. We want TRUTH! WHY are they saying it? That will bring the HOW naturally.

I like the students to realise this for themselves and sometimes that’s done by me presenting it slightly differently to them to see how the other character feels.
