GCSE Success Hub: GCSE revision support for parents

So far this half term I have worked directly with parents from 124 families discussing a variety of different topics:

✅ what does revision look like?
✅ where does effective revision happen?
✅ how much should I expect of my child?
✅ how do I ask for support from my school?

As the dust settles after GCSE Results Day, I hope that you and your children are happy with their results!

If your child is about to start Year 11 then September is a great time for a session with us to help get them ready for Prelim and Mock Exams. The start of a year is the best time to form a habit and habits reduce stress!

❓Does you child need a hand to kick-start their half term revision with a Guided Revision Session?

We have a few slots during the day available this week alongside a couple of evening sessions! Just drop us a message!!

The online session last night with a young man with a high target grade in Geography appears to have been a great success!

🎉 We correctly predicted several questions and practised impressing the examiner at the start of answers so that accessing those higher marks became easier!

📖 If you would like a similar session or a session to focus on moving up the grades, please let us know so that we can book you in and avoid disappointment!

After the first week of exams, we hope that your BTEC and Business papers have gone well!
If your child is sitting English Literature tomorrow, you can help them by discussing what they have revised! Ask them about…
- characters they have studied and how they change during the texts.
- core themes from with each text, for example love or conflict from Romeo and Juliet.
- practise their quotes with them and keep coming back to them for the rest of the day!

We have a small number of sessions available this week for Guided Revision or we can offer focused, last minute Geography specialist revision ahead of the Paper 1 exam on Wednesday! Private message for availability!

The countdown has started now with the first of the BTEC exams on the 2nd May!

If you would like a session during the remainder of the Easter Holiday to help your child refocus, re-energise and gain confidence before going back to school, we still have a couple of slots left this week!

Students have found the Guided Revision Sessions really useful in the last few days! We can focus on any subject, any topic and your child is left with real and practical skills for the rest of the exam period!

Active revision strategies give our brains a better chance of making our memories stick!
The easiest way to do this is for us to produce something in each revision session. Having a “Revision Takeaway” means that your child has something simpler to revise from when they review and also means that you can trust that they have been revising!!
