🌟 How lovely to see one of our franchisees in the news!

Ellena’s been running Little Voices Fylde since 2017 and has been talking about why, when she was just 22, she chose to buy a business rather than go to university.

But Ellena’s Little Voices story actually started long before that when she used to have singing lessons with our founder, Jane. From 8-year-old singing pupil to Little Voices franchisee – we don't think either of them saw that coming!

“They’re so chatty at home . . . I just wish they’d speak like that around other people.”

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone! Lots of children are completely themselves in small, safe spaces, but much more cautious anywhere they feel watched or judged. That doesn’t mean anything is wrong – it’s just a natural part of growing up and working out where they feel safe enough to be themselves.

What can help is simply having a regular place where using their voice feels normal, expected and judgement-free. Somewhere they can practise speaking, listening, laughing and joining in, week after week, until confidence stops feeling like such a big step.

Archer’s one of our Littles pupils, and his favourite thing about coming to our classes is meeting new people. He also thinks our tutors are “awesome”, “really, really kind; really fun, and really, really helpful”!

He’d also like his friends to come because he thinks they’d really enjoy it – Archer, we couldn’t agree more! 😍

Sometimes, it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference.

Two children choosing to work together, or a quiet chat starting up while everyone’s waiting for class to begin.

That sense of knowing who’s going to be there and feeling known in return is just as important as anything we practise in the lesson itself. It gives children somewhere to relax into being themselves, which is often when confidence starts to grow without anyone really noticing.

Have you spent years moving between two worlds?

You love working with children, but you’ve also always had a passion for drama, singing or performing arts. So while one has become the day job the other gets squeezed into evenings, weekends or "one day" plans.

But what if you could bring your two worlds together?

Many of our franchisees came from teaching and brought their love of the performing arts with them. A Little Voices franchise gave them the perfect way to combine both, helping children grow in confidence through drama and singing while building something of their own.
