We are delighted to share the outcomes of our recent Ofsted inspection at Ribbleton Avenue Methodist Junior School.

The report recognises the many strengths of our school and celebrates the caring, inclusive and supportive environment that our children, staff and families have worked so hard to create.

Some highlights include:
✅ Safeguarding standards met, with inspectors recognising our open culture where children feel safe and concerns are identified and acted upon effectively.
✅ A caring and welcoming school community where pupils feel they belong and are proud of their school. Inspectors found that children are warmly welcomed each day by staff who know them and their families well.
✅ Strong inclusion and support for wellbeing, with our "Heart Room" and dedicated staff praised for helping children manage their emotions and overcome barriers to learning.
✅ High-quality personal development opportunities, including outdoor learning, educational visits, leadership responsibilities, sports, clubs and learning about life in modern Britain. Inspectors noted that pupils are well prepared for life in the wider world.
✅ A broad and ambitious curriculum that has been significantly strengthened since the previous inspection, alongside a clear commitment to improving outcomes for all pupils. Inspectors recognised that current pupils are achieving better and making stronger progress than in the past.
✅ Improved attendance, with leaders praised for working closely with families and successfully ensuring that pupils attend school regularly.
✅ Dedicated staff and effective leadership, with inspectors highlighting that staff are happy working at the school, benefit from high-quality professional development and place pupils' needs at the heart of decision-making.
We are particularly proud that Ofsted recognised our commitment to supporting children's emotional wellbeing, ensuring every child is known, valued and supported to succeed.

While the report identifies areas where we will continue our work to further improve outcomes in writing and mathematics, inspectors acknowledged the positive impact of the changes already made and the strong foundations now in place.
