The Mericourt Nursery

This week in the seeds room, we've had a fantastic time with lots of different crafts! We kicked off the week by playing in green gloop with the farm animals, splashing in puddles and riding bikes outside in both the rain and sunshine. We also explored painting with various colours like blue, brown, and yellow. We dipped stickle bricks in paint to make marks on paper, which we'll display in our new reading jungle corner. We did some jungle and zoo colouring with different colouring pencils. To wrap up the week, we used gold and silver paint sticks on paper to create stars for our sleep room display. This week in the seeds room, we've had a fantastic time! We kicked off by splashing in the water with the ducks and enjoying the sunshine outside. We got creative, mixing sand with flour and water to stick the soft bricks and spades together. We also had fun washing the farm animals with soap, water, and toothbrushes. Playing with yellow and purple Playdough, we used various cutters and toothbrushes to shape our creations. To wrap up the week, we decorated cards using different paints with our fingers.☀️🫧

This week in the seeds room, we’ve had a wonderful time with a variety of activities. We enjoyed creating ramps for the cars using a slide. In tin foil painting, we used an array of colours to make a space-themed masterpiece. We also had fun washing the baby dolls, setting up a pretend bath with water, bubbles, and different cloths. Our track mark-making activity allowed us to paint with cars and roll them across paper to create different marks, enhancing our creativity. To finish the week, we played with the parachute outside, running under and climbing on it. We hope everyone has a lovely week off.☀️

This week in the 2 Room, we have had a fun-filled dinosaur-themed week!

The children have enjoyed exploring dinosaurs in the sand, searching for fossils and bones, and creating lots of colourful dinosaur footprints using paint. 🦖🦕🦴
We have also had fun exploring different coloured gloop and spent plenty of time outdoors in the sand, filling and emptying a variety of containers while developing our play and learning.
