There are so many aspects of facilitating funerals that I genuinely enjoy. ❤️

When I see a beautiful personal tribute that captures someone’s personality, hobbies and the things they loved, it really does make me smile.

The thought and care that goes into ensuring a loved one’s final farewell reflects them in the finest detail never fails to amaze me.
From service sheets and Forget-Me-Not seeds, to transport, songs, poems and floral tributes… every little detail can tell a story.

Today’s floral tributes particularly made me smile. 🌸 They beautifully captured a devoted nurse, alongside someone who clearly loved holidays, sunshine and sitting under their parasol. 🏖️
It’s these personal touches that make each farewell so unique and meaningful.

Being able to help families create something that truly reflects their loved one is a privilege.

Today we said goodbye to Ian.

Ian was a devoted husband to Dot and together they built a life spanning almost 6 decades filled with adventures holidays, laughter and countless happy memories.

They were regulars at Blackpool Pier, frequently watching Cannon and Ball perform and while at home Ian enjoyed spending time on his amateur radio tapping away in Morse code.

Ian made many friends worldwide and though he didn’t have children of his own, he lovingly unofficially adopted those around him who equally loved him as a family member.

Ian was full of one liners, a cheeky character and deeply devoted to Dot. He will be greatly missed by the many friends who gathered to show their love and condolences today.

After a lovely week away I’m now home.

Today we said goodbye to Peter.

Peter was a devoted husband, dad, grandad and friend to many.

He dedicated much of his career to electrical engineering where his inventive mind and problem-solving skills shone through. After retiring, he channelled that same creativity into designing board games…. several of which were successfully sold in tourist shops.

Peter had a deep passion for politics and I personally thought he would have done a better job at Number 10!!!
He also found great joy in tending to his garden and vegetable patch, completing jigsaw puzzles and travelling with his beloved wife Kath.

Above all, Peter was a kind and valued member of his close-knit community. The neighbours who gathered today to pay their respects were a testament to the impact he had on those around him and the friendships he nurtured over the years.

Peter will be remembered with great affection and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Today we said goodbye to Gerry.

Gerry was a much loved son, brother, husband, dad, grandad and friend. He left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He was a man of strong opinions, quick wit and unforgettable humour. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh while winding them up in equal measure…. a trait that those who knew him best will always remember with a smile.

Gerry spent many years travelling the length and breadth of the country as an HGV driver. In his younger days, he worked as a butcher's boy where he cheekily traded sausages for ci******es!!

He loved travelling abroad and in more recent years, he particularly enjoyed cruising. You could often find him strolling along the top deck with his binoculars scanning the horizon.

Gerry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but he will never be forgotten.
Today wasn’t goodbye…. It was see you later!

Today we said goodbye to Doris.

Doris was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Doris faced life's joys with gratitude and its heartaches with remarkable strength and dignity.
Following the heartbreaking loss of her husband, life gave her a second chance at happiness and she embraced it wholeheartedly, making the most of every precious moment.

She was a true homebird and was always happiest in the comfort of her own home where she loved welcoming family and friends. Her home was always filled with warmth, kindness and love.
Doris had a passion for gardening, cooking, crochet and sewing. When her children were young, she lovingly handmade many of their outfits.

Today we shared many uplifting stories as we celebrated and reminisced about her life. There were smiles through the tears as we remembered the wonderful memories she gave her family and the lasting impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Doris will be deeply and sadly missed by all who loved her. Their hearts are heavy with the sadness of goodbye but today, those hearts took comfort in believing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband and son…. together once again and at peace.

Today we said goodbye to Stan.

Stan was a devoted husband, a much loved dad and a cherished grandad and great-grandad.

Stan was a true Tyldesley lad, he never moved far from the place he called home. In his younger years, he loved weekend pub crawls with his mates around the local pubs.

Above all though, Stan loved Padstow. It was his favourite place to visit where he created countless treasured memories with his family over the years.

Stan loved fishing, supporting his beloved Bolton Wanderers and one of his greatest passions was amateur radio. Having qualified in Morse code, he could often be heard tapping away, sending messages across the airwaves.
He was an active member of local radio groups and even helped Cubs and Brownies earn their communication badges.

Stan… your final transmission may have ended, but your signal will never fade.

Today we said goodbye to George.

George dedicated his whole life to his beloved wife and son. Today we can only imagine them welcoming him with open arms as they are lovingly reunited at Heaven's gates.

George proudly served his country in the Royal Engineers. In 1953 while serving, he was granted a 48-hour pass to marry the love of his life… this was a moment he treasured forever. During his years in the military, George kept a diary recording the events of his service, leaving behind a remarkable account that will be cherished by future generations.

In his later years, George was a devoted grandad and great-grandad. He found joy in tending his greenhouse and growing tomatoes, feeding the horses and sharing ice cream with his great- granddaughter.

He also enjoyed making his own wine and took great pride in his collections of coins and stamps.
Above all else, George's greatest love was his wife. His devotion to her was evident throughout his life and was an inspiration to everyone who knew them.

George was a truly kind, dedicated and deeply loved man. He leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories and although he will be profoundly missed, his love, strength and legacy will remain in the hearts of his grandchildren.

As we said goodbye to Geoff one sentiment echoed throughout the crematorium: Geoff was a true gentleman.

Geoff met his beloved wife Pat on a shared train journey to work. Together they built a wonderful life and became proud parents to their two sons.
After working for a variety of companies, Geoff became self-employed as a health and safety assessor and delivered training across the UK.

When Pat sadly passed away, she left an immeasurable void in Geoff's heart and home. Despite his own loss, Geoff continued to put others first. He would help anyone in need and became involved with various charities supporting and guiding those who needed it most.

It was through the U3A that Geoff met Muriel and it's fair to say he found his soulmate. His life began to blossom once again. Geoff embraced Muriel's children and was delighted to become a much-loved grandad to her grandchildren.

Today many touching memories were shared of a man whose kindness, generosity and gentle nature touched so many lives. Geoff was, in every sense of the word, a true gentleman. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Today we said goodbye to Bill.

Bill was a devoted husband, dad, grandad and great-grandad who meant the world to his family.
Having 11 grandsons certainly had its advantages. Whenever the boys grew tired of their T-shirts, Bill would happily have a rummage through them and often claim a few for himself!

After the loss of his beloved wife of 67 years, Bill faced his grief with strength and was supported by his family. He later moved into Buckshaw Retirement Village where he embraced a new chapter in his life.

Bill threw himself into enjoying the activities and brought smiles to everyone around him with his quirky sense of humour and the unforgettable things he would come out with. He would often ask ‘Alexis’ to put on Elvis Presley or one of his other favourite artists.

When his grandchildren were young, Bill loved making dens out of blankets, creating magical and unforgettable memories. Bill had a real love of ice cream and a passion for growing vegetables.

While Bill’s family and friends find themselves with heavy hearts today as they say goodbye, they also take comfort in the hope that Bill is lovingly reunited with his beloved Joan. Together again after a lifetime of love. ❤️ 🙏🏻💙
