The turf is cut and the tracks are marked! It can only mean one thing - rain is forecast!! 😳
Fingers crossed the weather will be kind and we are all set to hold our school sports!
The mammoth sporting week blasts off tomorrow (Monday) at 9:30am with the Foundation Phase on our Treowen 🏟️ track. They will be followed at 1:30pm by the athletes from Treowen KS2.
On Tuesday at 1:30pm our Calon Campus host the sporting superstars in our Foundation Phase and closing our sports day week on Wednesday at 1:30pm will be our KS2 children, running skipping and jumping to the finish line!
All are welcome to come and cheer on in these fun events.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🪩Welsh Zumba🪩🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Today children (and staff) across the school took part in a Welsh Zumba session! 👏 A huge thank you to Katy who put us through our paces, tested our co-ordination, rhythm, footwork and certainly got us counting ‘un dau tri pedwar’. What a way to end a busy week! Diolch yn fawr iawn.😀

What another great day at Newtown Cricket Club as our Year 5 and 6 children took part in the local cricket competition 🏏 and it was fantastic to once again enjoy the company of other schools and everyone involved.
Looking after the wickets, finding the boundaries and guarding the silly mid off was the name of the game and throw in a few smiles and roll some cheers and you have the ingredients for a perfect day! 🏏 ☀️
With both teams winning their groups, they cheered each other on through to the semi finals and then to the final! 🏆 🥇

Our final Dementia Friends Singing Session in Llyfrgelloedd Y Drenewydd a Llanidloes / Newtown and Llanidloes Libraries. of the school year and it was Llwyfens turn to attend.💙🌼 The beats, singing, 🎶 and clapping were on top form! One of our favourite hours of the month 🥰 Our Year 3/4 children loved telling all our friends about what we’ve been up to at school. Especially our recent cricket 🏏 success. We look forward to catching up with our friends in September now when sessions will begin again. 👍 Dementia Friendly Newtown

Today our children hosted our first extremely successful 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Bore Coffi 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 where the children enjoyed singing Welsh songs for their parents, teaching their grown ups a ‘Sgwrs’ too serving them te, coffi a chacen. Diolch to everyone who came and enjoyed! 👏🍰🧁🥮☕️🫖

This weeks winners have been using their Welsh skills to answer the register, great pronunciations, talking Welsh at home with parents. Many have been busy preparing for bore coffi as well as rehearsing the Sgwrs Y Mis too. Adderchog pawb.👏⭐️

‘Where did you go over the weekend?’

Our first Maths Drop-In session, where we shared the fantastic work from our pilot classes, was a great success! ✅

A huge thank you to all the families in our pilot classes for your support and enthusiasm in completing the activities. Your involvement has made a real difference in building positive attitudes towards maths 💪🏻
