What a fabulous way to end another wonderful year at Singleton! 🌟

Today, our Year 6 children led a fantastic whole-school celebration, reflecting on their time at Singleton and marking the end of an important chapter in their lives. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and wish them the very best of luck as they begin their next adventure. Go and shine, Year 6! 💙

Today was also an emotional day as we said goodbye to some very special members of our school family.
After 16 years at Singleton, Mrs Clayton is retiring. Mrs Clayton would like to share the following message:

"Thank you so much for the kind words, cards and gifts I have received this week. Singleton has been a huge part of my life for the past 16 years and it has been an honour to lead the school. I will miss it greatly."

We thank Mrs Clayton for her dedication, commitment and the positive impact she has had on generations of children and families, and we wish her a very happy and well-deserved retirement. 💐

We also said goodbye to Miss Manns, who is leaving to take up an exciting new role with Lancashire County Council. We know that many children and families will miss the vital support she has provided as our Learning Mentor over the years. Thank you, Miss Manns for everything you have done for our school community and good luck in your new role. 🌟

Finally, we shared an emotional farewell with Miss Johnson (Emily from Kids Club), who is embarking on her PGCE journey. Emily has been a valued part of our extended school family and will be greatly missed by children, staff and parents alike. We wish her every success as she begins her teaching career. 🍎📚

As always, our staff team has been overwhelmed by the generosity, kind words, cards and gifts received from our families. Your support means so much to us and is truly appreciated.

Thank you for another unforgettable year at Singleton. We hope all of our children, families and staff have a safe, happy and relaxing summer break.

🏆 Inter-House Sports Competition Success! 🏆
What a fantastic day of sport, teamwork and determination at our Inter-House Sports Competition! Every child showed incredible enthusiasm, resilience and sportsmanship, proudly representing their houses and supporting one another throughout the event.
A very special thank you goes to Mrs James for all of her hard work in organising and coordinating the competition. Your dedication ensured the day ran smoothly and provided a wonderful experience for all of our children.
We would also like to give a huge thank you to our amazing Year 6 pupils, who were outstanding role models throughout the day. From helping to set up activities and encouraging younger children, to cheering on participants and supporting staff, your leadership, maturity and positivity shone through.
Well done to everyone who took part – you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. It was wonderful to see our school values in action through teamwork, kindness, perseverance and respect.

🌿🌳 Forest School Fun! 🌳🌿
The children enjoyed an exciting Forest School session filled with teamwork, exploration and laughter. We played Meet a Tree, using our senses to carefully explore and identify different trees around the woodland area. The children showed fantastic observation skills and loved discovering the unique features of each tree.
We also had great fun playing Hide and Seek amongst the trees, developing confidence, communication and an appreciation for the natural environment. It was wonderful to see everyone working together, being active and enjoying the outdoors.
A lovely afternoon of learning, adventure and fresh air! 🍃😊

A huge thank you to Chris Knapman & Sara Rovetto - Caricature with Attitude who came to see our school leavers this week. They created a bespoke leavers caricature for each individual. They are fantastic!

This week in History, Class 3 have been learning about the impact of war and how we remember those who served and sacrificed.

As part of their learning, the children designed their own war memorials, thinking carefully about what they should look like and what they should include to honour those affected by war. They showed great empathy, creativity and respect, producing some truly brilliant and thoughtful designs.

We are so proud of the maturity and care the children demonstrated throughout this topic. Well done, Class 3! 🌺⭐

Thank you to our wonderful FOSS team who have helped fund a new rug for Class 1. It has brightened up our classroom and makes sitting on the carpet area more comfortable ⭐
