Nursery's Makaton Sign of the Week

In line with our theme for this month of "All About Me" we are introducing a couple of family Makaton signs - Mummy and Daddy.

Clare has kindly agreed to be filmed to show you these two signs.
We have also added a bonus sign of "More.

We enjoy using Makaton at the nursery with the little ones.

Children grasp it quickly and it really boosts their language and communication skills.

Makaton has lots of benefits for the children.

Here are a few: it helps them express needs and wants, reduces frustration, expands their vocabulary, and improves their relationships and confidence.

Ultimately, Makaton creates a more inclusive and supportive atmosphere where children feel valued.

These are just some of the amazing things about Makaton.

To spread the love, we're kicking off a 'sign of the week' for our families. Carmen has kindly agreed to be filmed for the first two signs: "please" and "thank you".
