Hi everyone!
I want to b____ t__ i__ and introduce myself! My name is Ellie, I’m 22 years old, and I’m from Hampshire, England.
I recently completed a degree in English Language and Linguistics at Reading University, including an amazing Study Abroad Year. After graduating, I earned my CELTA qualification at LSI/IH Portsmouth, and now I’m thrilled to say that I’m a qualified English teacher!
This page is all about helping students learn English, so let’s dive right in with an idiom. 📚
What’s an idiom?
An idiom is a phrase or expression that doesn’t mean exactly what it says—it has a figurative meaning instead of a literal one.
For example:
To ‘break the ice’ means to start a conversation or make people feel more comfortable. ❄️
Let’s break the ice together and start this journey! Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments or share your favorite idiom. 😊
