Last week, a group of children attended a local badminton festival along with 18 other schools. They were able to take part in various activities designed introduce them to the sport and to improve their skills. Activities included using fluff balls (see picture) to improve their control and hand eye coordination; hitting/ throwing the shuttlecock into the bucket (see picture) to improve their aim/accuracy and various lunging activities focusing on getting down low and moving quickly around the court.
All the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and some of these activities we will continue to use this half term during our afterschool badminton club.

Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School Joins Global Rosary for Peace
On Tuesday, 7th October, Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School in Portsmouth joined more than one million children around the world in praying the Rosary. The international initiative, “1 Million Children Praying the Rosary,” unites young people across the globe in prayer for peace and unity in a world so often wounded by division, conflict, and suffering.
At Corpus Christi, pupils and staff came together in a beautiful spirit of faith and community. Prayers were said in classrooms, in the church, and even outside on the playground, where the children formed a living rosary, symbolising their unity and devotion.
We believe that this symphony of prayer will help bring healing, peace, and hope to our world.
