This week Year 6 sent a mixed football team to compete at a football tournament at Goals. This is what team members Maria and Amalia said about their experience;
"We showed terrific teamwork and top level communication on the pitch. We all had a great time at Goals. We worked great as a team but sadly on this occasion we didn't win - but there is always next time!"

Well done everyone, you made Meon Junior Proud and we can't wait to see how the girls team get on at the next tournament on Tuesday. 🏆⚽🏅

🐶🐾 Pupdate! 🐾🐶

From tiny puppies to valued members of the Meon Way team, our four-legged friends Chelsea and Button have been busy making a big impact across the school! 🐶❤️

They've helped welcome children at the school gates, provided a special reward for positive behaviour, encouraged active play with dog walks around the playground, helped with some school admin and most importantly, brought smiles and lifted spirits wherever they go.

It's been wonderful to see the positive effect they have on our children and staff, and we can't wait to watch them continue to grow and thrive as part of our school community. 🐾✨

What a fantastic first full-time week our Reception children have had at Meon Infant School!
Last week, the children began their phonics journey, learning the sounds m, a, s and d. The children have enjoyed practising saying the sounds and spotting them in words around the classroom.
In maths, we have been focusing on subitising numbers 1-3. We have been learning that subitising means being able to recognise how many objects there are without needing to count them one by one. The children have enjoyed playing games and using practical resources to develop this important skill.
We have also continued learning about our school, helping the children become even more confident and familiar with their new environment.
Our nursery rhyme last week was Humpty Dumpty, and the children have loved singing it together, acting it out and joining in with related activities throughout our provision.
