As autumn approaches we try and harvest some seeds to use for next year. In the Chill and Grow group on September 3rd, we will identify some of the different varieties of things like sunflowers and tomatoes, extract and wash the seeds before drying them for storage. You can take some home to sow when the winter has passed and leave some for the allotment ๐Ÿ˜Š

This Wednesday (19 August, 10amโ€“3pm), Nicky and Steven from the Micro-Provider team will be at Tesco Extra, Fratton Way โ€” and we'd love to meet you. We also have our one of our newest Micro providers Carolynnes Companions and one of our first Micro Providers Carolee Haz, from Carols Kitchen and PA services joining us to promote them selves and look for connections.
If you're a self-employed carer or support worker (or thinking about becoming one), come and find out about the free support, training, and local network behind Portsmouth's Micro-Providers.
And if you're looking for flexible, personal support for yourself or someone you love โ€” someone local, someone consistent โ€” come and have a chat. No forms, no waiting lists. Just a conversation.
This is the first of our pop-ups across the city, running through to January.
Drop by the stand on Wednesday, or message this page to find out more. Please share to anyone that you know might be interested. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Adult LD Group were working hard but had to take a break to appreciate something so beautiful. Luckily we were able to take a photo.

What a fantastic morning we had on our photography and mindfulness walk last week! We spent time exploring the forest, taking photos, noticing the little things in nature and of course the smiley faces along the way. We were also lucky enough to meet the Lion from the Portsmouth Lions trail before finising at Casemates Studios & Cafe for refreshments and looking over our photos.

Our next walk is Friday 11th September at 10.30am, if you would like to join us. We meet at Bastion 3 for a slow paced 90 minute walk around the forest. Just turn up, no need to book and our walks are all free.

Today we supported a lady to access St Mary's Churchyard in her new electric wheelchair. She felt a bit nervous, especially around the dropped curbs but once we were out in the green area around the church, she was so happy. She took time to look at the beautiful old trees and enjoy their shade.๐ŸŒณ

This was the first lion she had seen from the and now she's planning where else she can go lion hunting with her new found freedom!

If you would like support to build confidence with your wheelchair, mobility scooter or walking frame, contact the Community Connectors: www.portsmouth.gov.uk/community-connectors/
