Many of you ask how my wonderful student, Alfie Connolly, did at the Zildjian Young Drummer of the Year 2025 finals.
I would say he did pretty damned well, despite not winning, what a star at 15 years old!.
I think I may have helped create a monster, is the world ready for him?!

I get a lot of questions about who my drumming is influenced by.
all the usual Collins, Bonham, Cobham & there's some great modern players who are just incredible.
However, there's literally no-one that can do this.
This has the drumming-equivalent of your guitar dives & trills with a big sound, maybe as big as Bonham, More flurries than Ali, like a butterfly carrying a sledgehammer.

He's been a pleasure to teach since he started 2 or 3 years ago, an exceptionally highly motivated player with a bright future ahead of him.
