What would your child say this was?!
Very few know what a yo-yo is so what would they think this object is?
Interactive classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers developed to nurture a love for reading.

Spot the difference!
Most of my families will have noticed the empty space in the corner of the Reading Fairy room where the prop table used to stand.
Although lots of children looked a little confused about what had changed, I could sense a collective sigh of relief from parents/ grandparents who no longer need to drag their little ones away from hiding underneath the table!
Your children’s safety is paramount… and your mental health too 😉
We’ve not had a Phonic Fox Friday for a while so I’m doing a triple whammy today! Watch for /w/, /x/, and /y/ and how to pronounce these tricky sounds.
Save for later or share with anyone who this may help

⭐️Top Tip⭐️
Not sure why this never occurred to me but thank you to who taught me a top tip for waving rainbow ribbons.
Wrapping the ribbons around the hoop shortens the length preventing an accidental flick in the eye!
We will definitely be using this tip in our classes! 🌈🌈🌈
How Gen Z might describe our classes!
I can’t even pretend to know what they are talking about most of the time but if I heard them say this about our classes I think it would be gas!!!!
(My 12 year old will think this is “cringe” 😂)

Phase 1 Phonics: Environmental Sounds
Phase 1 phonics is the first stage in the early reading journey and its’ main goal is to develop children’s listening skills. It helps children tune into, differentiate, and play with sounds in preparation for formal reading.
Aspect 1 of Phase 1 Phonics involves listening to and recognising environmental sounds. We do this through listening to sound effects and pointing to the object matching the sound on our gorgeous Chat Cat cards. Our Story Stars absolutely love this activity!

Construction of the new building was certainly underway this morning!
Thank you to my families for bearing with the noise and the shaking of the room during our classes today! Thankfully our vehicle themed topic ‘My Journeys’ fits nicely with the construction happening on site and it’s lovely to see the children so excited to watch the diggers whenever they come to class!

It’s a brand new half term starting tomorrow and I am looking forward to seeing all of my lovely families next week!
As much as I love having a break and spending extra time with my boys at home, I love my job and coming back to see those cute little faces again and meeting some new ones too!
Our Toddler Tales and Story Stars are beginning our ‘Journeys’ theme so perfect for those little vehicle lovers and I can’t believe we are coming to the end of our alphabet - it only feels like yesterday that we were starting with /a/!!!!!
Our Reading Recruits will be coming to the end of their own Reading Fairy journey with their final term before starting school so we will be embarking on our ‘Get Set for School’ programme to prepare them for their new chapter in September! 🥺 Don’t worry if your child is not starting school in September, we still have all of our usual characters and structure to our classes that your little ones love.

Not got a Father’s Day gift sorted for the men in your little ones’ lives yet?
Join Kay at Eastney Community Centre on Tuesday 2nd June and Friday 5th June. There are still plenty of slots available for your little ones to visit her workshop to create some wonderful keepsakes. Your creations don’t have to be Father’s Day related - maybe for a birthday present or just because these are simply the most treasured gifts!
Link for booking is available on my story
Kay is a genius at ceramics and I’m always amazed at the beautiful items she creates with you!
