We’re taking over Murrains Cafe and Bar bringing you Diva O. Divine for a night of drag, filthy bingo, inappropriate jokes and the sort of behaviour that makes you wake up the next morning thinking, “I’m NEVER drinking again.”

That photo you just scrolled past. One image. One angle, one moment somebody chose to show you.

You don’t know if that’s their reality or their best day. Truth is, you don’t even know if that’s really them anymore. So much of what you see out there isn’t even real. You know nothing about their journey. Nothing about their battles. Nothing about what drives them or what has quietly held them back.

An image is not a life. It’s a single second somebody decided to show you, and these days you can’t even be sure that second happened at all.

Well, I wasn’t in Lift & Tone last week, but I was back this week and I have to say, I felt an overwhelming sense of love from the ladies. They were clearly VERY glad to have me back. Honestly, it’s moments like these that remind you just how much your clients appreciate you. 😂
I love you all massively and we missed our absent crew but we will be waiting for you next week with lots of delightful stuff 🤣🤪

What a way to start a brand new week! 💚

We’re kicking Monday off with a bang, with a huge full house waiting for us at the MEM in Nantymoel this morning.

It’s our first session at the MEM, and we’ve got a lovely morning of Pilates and meditation ahead of us. A chance to move, breathe, unwind and start the week feeling good.

What a week!

We’ve had Lift & Tone, our perfectly chaotic Pilates based classes and, of course, Dance Fitness.

Well done to everyone who showed up this week. I love our chaos, the banter, the naughtiness and the utter filth coming from you lot, especially in our Pilates classes. You know who you are! 😂 Seeing women walk through those doors (sometimes crawl out of some of the classes) and just let go for an hour is priceless. You might give me a few extra grey hairs along the way, but would I change you all? Never in a million years.

A huge welcome to all our new ladies who joined us this week. Most people would probably feel the need to apologise in advance for some of the highly questionable behaviour you’re going to witness in our classes, but I’m not going to, because I’m never sorry. This is us. Loud, proud and unapologetically ourselves. You’ll soon be as bad as the rest of them anyway. We have a gift for bringing that side out in everyone!

Our Simone has had loads of lovely comments about her gorgeous pink and lilac hair this week and has now officially been named the Unicorn of Chaos. It’s so lovely when you get a nickname from your classes. I wouldn’t want to know what you lot call me, mind. Some things are definitely best left unsaid. 😂

Next week we do it all again, with our new classes starting over in Nantymoel too.

STOP OBSESSING OVER THE SCALES.

Especially as you get older. That number between your toes tells you absolutely nothing about how strong you are, how well you move, or how capable your body is. After 50, muscle matters. Muscle gets you up off the floor, out of a chair, carries the shopping, gets you up the stairs, supports your joints, helps with balance and, importantly, helps you keep your independence.

You can lose weight and lose muscle with it. The scales might tell you you’ve done brilliantly, while your body is actually becoming weaker. So maybe it’s time we stopped making “weigh less” the bloody goal and started thinking about staying strong instead.

Lift things. Move your body. Eat enough protein. Walk. Dance. Squat. Carry your own shopping bags. Keep challenging those muscles. And no, you don’t need to be throwing massive weights around a gym. You just need to keep giving your body a reason to stay strong.

Getting older is inevitable. Getting weaker without putting up a fight isn’t.

It’s not real, guys. It’s just not real.

Those immaculate living rooms, spotless kitchens and perfect bedrooms you see online? You’re seeing one carefully chosen corner. The rest of the house could be a complete and utter sh****le for all you know.

That perfect hair and flawless makeup? That’s a moment. It’s not necessarily every morning, every day, real life. And for the people who do manage to look immaculate every single day, something else probably gives. Because nobody has unlimited hours, energy or money.

The perfect diet. The beautifully arranged meals. The workouts every day. The perfect body. The perfect relationship. The holidays. The clothes. The car. The house. The business that apparently makes thousands while they sleep.

You’re seeing what somebody has chosen to show you.

And now we’ve got filters, editing and AI thrown into the mix, so sometimes you’re comparing yourself to something that doesn’t even bloody exist.

And please stop measuring your worth in likes.

Maybe your photo gets 4 likes instead of 400.

Imagine walking down the street today and four different people stopped you and said, “You look lovely today.”

You’d probably go home absolutely buzzing.

Four real people noticed you.

Yet online, we’ve somehow been conditioned to think four isn’t enough.

Don’t let your head spiral because somebody else’s digital life looks better than your real one.

Real life is messy. Houses get untidy. Hair gets shoved up. Bodies change. Plans go t**s up. People struggle. Money gets tight. Relationships have difficult days. Sometimes dinner is whatever you can find in the bloody cupboard.

That’s life.

Stop comparing your whole, complicated, imperfect, real life with somebody else’s edited highlights.

Be real.

Be you.

Live your bloody life.
