The James Kane Foundation commenced a funding programme last year with 27 post primary settings in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon area to support students as they progress in their education, training or employment.

Miss Gibb (Principal) is pictured with Sarah Sherrard and Evan Kasperiunas , who were nominated by the College to receive the 2024 bursary. Both students have just completed their A-Levels at the College and we wish Sarah and Evan every success with their future plans.

Many thanks to past pupil and local author Lynda Haffey for taking the time to meet with aspiring author and illustrator, student Frances Smith.

We were joined by principal Miss Gibb and Moving Images and Art teacher Mrs McShane.

Lynda gave some great advice from her experiences and it was a very helpful morning.

Stay tuned as there’s a lot more to come from this very talented student! ⭐️ 📕 🎨

Year 11 Business Studies students had a really enjoyable and informative visit to one of the largest snack manufacturers in the UK - The Famous Tayto Castle in Tandragee.

The students were given a fascinating insight into the production process from the potatoes coming in from local farms to being packed into boxes to be sold all across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and beyond.

This was the first time back since COVID and it was great to be so close to the production process at each stage and to be “employed” as expert taste testers. This included the first run of the new salt and vinegar flavoured onion rings. I think the jury is still out on these. The consumers of Northern Ireland will have the final say.

Our thanks go to the very friendly staff at Tayto, including one of our tour guides who is a former student.

The young budding business students of PC certainly enjoyed their first hand experience of seeing the production of one of the most iconic brands in Northern Ireland.

A group of year 13 students spent a morning training to become ambassadors for Concern. These students then spoke in assembly about the valuable work that Concern do; they organised a sponsored fast and then planned an “alternative” bingo event.

This included rounds on movies, celebrities, famous landmarks, flags, music etc. and it was a fun afternoon for students after finishing their exams.

As a result of their fantastic effort, £600 has been raised for Concern. Well done to everyone, and thanks to all those who came along to support them. 🌟 🙌
