Our SENCO, Lucy, has recently been creating a range of practical support boxes to help children develop their skills, increase engagement, and support their individual needs.
Resistive Resource Box-
The resistive resource box contains activities and resources that provide resistance through pulling, stretching, squeezing, pushing, and manipulating objects. These activities offer proprioceptive input which can be particularly beneficial for children who seek sensory feedback or need support with regulation.
✅ Benefits:
• Supports sensory regulation and body awareness
• Helps children feel calmer and more focused
• Improves concentration and readiness for learning
• Strengthens fine and gross motor skills
• Provides a safe and purposeful way to meet sensory needs.
Start and Finish Tray Boxes-
The start and finish tray boxes provide a clear visual structure for children when completing activities. Children take a task from the "start" tray and place it into the "finish" tray once completed, helping them understand expectations and work towards a clear goal.
✅ Benefits:
• Encourages independence and organisation
• Supports task completion and perseverance
• Reduces anxiety through clear routines and expectations
• Builds confidence and a sense of achievement
• Helps develop focus and working skills
These carefully designed resources are helping to create an inclusive environment where every child can access the support they need to thrive!✨

Today, the children had an exciting visit from an ambulance and a team of paramedics. The paramedics showed the children around the ambulance and explained how they help people who are ill or injured. The children had the opportunity to see some of the equipment used to care for patients and learned about the important role emergency services play in keeping people safe.
The visit helped the children understand what happens when someone calls for help and encouraged them to feel confident rather than frightened if they ever see an ambulance. The children asked lots of questions, learning the number they would need to call in case of an emergency and enjoyed exploring the ambulance while learning about health, safety, and the people who help our community.
It was a fun and educational experience that everyone enjoyed.

The toddlers have been showing lots of interest in space recently, so Lily created a very exciting Space Day for them! 🚀🌎✨
The children enjoyed taking part in a variety of space-themed activities including planet painting, exploring a space messy tray, and completing space puzzles. They were full of curiosity and imagination as they explored the different activities throughout the day.
Lily also worked hard to create beautiful paper mâché planets and transformed an area into a cosy space-themed corner for the children to relax, read, and continue their space adventures. 🌙⭐
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, creative, and excited to learn more about space!

Today our preschoolers took part in a very exciting “Can You Save Stickman from the Ice?” activity! ❄️🧊
The children explored different ways to rescue the frozen stickman, using tools and lots of problem-solving skills to melt the ice. They were fascinated watching the ice change and loved working together to free him!
This hands-on activity encouraged curiosity, teamwork, communication, and early scientific thinking, all while having lots of fun. It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and eager to investigate! ✨

Recently, Preschool have updated their Home Link Bags to support some of the new changes and transitions that children may be experiencing. These resources are designed to help children feel confident, supported, and secure both at nursery and at home.
Home Link Bags are a wonderful way for us to work in partnership with parents and carers, supporting children through life changes, new experiences, and important developmental stages.
If you would like to take a Home Link Bag home for a short period of time, please speak to a member of staff in your child’s room.✨

This morning we held a School Readiness Morning where the Preschoolers who are starting school in September, along with their parents, came into the setting to take part in a range of school readiness activities together. Each activity included information explaining how it supports children’s development and prepares them for their transition to school.
It was a lovely opportunity for parents to see first-hand how we support their children in building the confidence, independence and skills needed for starting school. Thank you to everyone who joined us — we hope you enjoyed the morning as much as we did!✨
