Time really does fly…
This time last year I was in Trapani!
It got me thinking about the name of my business, Precious Memories, which I chose over 20 years ago.
Funny how, after all these years, the name still feels so right. So much of what life is about is the memories we make and the moments we remember.
Anyway… it got me wondering…
What were you doing this time last year?
I’ve just been looking back through my photos — always interesting to see where you were and what you were doing 12 months ago! Where were you? MakingMemories

It’s my favourite time again… MODEL CALL!
This time I’m looking for TWO BABY MODELS for a baby casting session in Dorset.
Lytchett Matravers | Newborn to 12 months | Two spaces available
I’m looking for two little ones, ideally of different ages, to join me at my studio in Lytchett Matravers for a 1:1 3D casting training session.
My student, Pina, will be travelling to me to learn hands-on lifecasting skills as part of her training.
We’ll be taking 3D casts of your baby’s hands and feet.
Please don’t worry if your baby is wriggly, unsettled or needs a little extra time. That’s completely normal and absolutely fine. The materials used are baby-safe, gentle and fast-working, allowing us to capture those tiny details quickly.
I’ll be supervising the session throughout and making sure everything is carried out safely and carefully.
I’ve been doing this for over 20 years, so your baby will be in very experienced hands.
SESSION DETAILS
Wednesday 19th August at 11.45am
or
Thursday 20th August at 10.30am
Approximately 45 minutes per session.
Free parking available.
WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE
An Inkless Wipe Kit for taking hand and footprints at home.
Please note that the Inkless Wipe Kit is the complimentary item included with the model session. The finished 3D casts are NOT included free of charge.
Finished 3D casts can be arranged afterwards at an additional cost if you would like them, but there is absolutely no obligation to purchase anything.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE
This is a training session where 3D casts of the hands and feet will be created.
Photos and video will be taken during the session for use on my website and social media.
A short review will be requested afterwards, so please only apply if you are happy to provide one.
If selected, you will be asked to confirm your consent to photos and video being used before the session.
IMPORTANT
Applications close at midnight on Thursday 13th August.
The chosen families will be contacted on Friday 14th August.
I will ONLY contact you from this official page. Please ignore any fake accounts, messages or payment requests.
HOW TO APPLY – COMMENTS ONLY
PLEASE DO NOT SEND PRIVATE MESSAGES.
Applications sent by private message cannot be accepted.
If you would like to be considered, please comment below with:
Baby’s name and age
Your location
Which day/s you can do
Whether you are happy to be considered as a backup if needed
Please only comment if you are genuinely available and happy with everything outlined in this post. Comments are being treated as applications, not simply expressions of interest.
Please make sure you are following and have liked the page, as Facebook can restrict messages from non-followers.

Twenty years ago, when I started my business, my biggest fear wasn't technology.
It was much simpler:
Would anyone actually trust a complete stranger with their newborn baby's tiny hands? 🤍
That question never really disappears when you do work that matters.
Over the last 20+ years, thousands of babies, families and pets have come through my studio doors. Not one experience has ever been exactly the same.
Every baby is different. Every family brings their own story. Every memorial appointment carries its own emotions.
Recently, it made me think about the conversations we’re having around AI and technology.
AI can create images. It can write words. It can suggest solutions.
But can it sit quietly with someone who has just lost a much-loved pet?
Can it understand when a family doesn't need more words, they simply need someone gentle, patient and present?
A little while ago, a client came to me after a framed cast had fallen from the wall and cracked. She didn’t need an online suggestion or a digital image of what it might look like repaired.
She needed someone who understood the material, cared about the piece, and could carefully restore something that held so many memories.
That’s the part that stays with me.
Technology will continue to change the way we work. I’m sure of that.
But I wonder if we’ve spent so much time asking what technology can do, that we’ve stopped asking:
What will people always want another person to do?
I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.
What part of your own work, or life, do you think will always need a human touch?

Hi everyone! 😊
My daughter, Savana, is back from her travels and is looking for a summer job in Dorset.
She previously worked at Miiko, where she gained valuable experience in:
• Barista coffee making in a busy café environment• Customer service and hospitality• Retail and front-of-house
She's friendly, hardworking, reliable, quick to learn, and genuinely enjoys working with people. She has her own car, is available immediately, and is happy to consider cafés, hospitality, retail, tourism, or similar roles.
If you know of any opportunities, or know someone who might be looking for a great member of staff, I'd be so grateful if you could let me know.
Please comment below or send me a direct message. Thank you so much for any recommendations or shares! 💛
