A little update on our social media photos

We’ll continue to showcase all the lovely activities and experiences happening at Muddy Boots, but will focus on photos where children’s faces aren’t fully visible. Full-face photos will continue to be shared with families through Famly.'

What We’ve Been Up To This Week 🌟

It’s been another busy and exciting week at nursery, with lots of opportunities for learning, exploring and developing independence!

🐾 Baby Room
Our Baby Room have been focusing on the much loved story Dear Zoo. The children have enjoyed exploring the different animals through stories, sensory experiences and play.

🌲 Toddlers
Our Toddlers have been immersed in The Gruffalo, using the story to support their imagination, communication and language development. They have enjoyed exploring the characters and bringing elements of the story into their play.

🥕 Pre-School
Our Pre-Schoolers have continued exploring The Giant Turnip, revisiting previous learning opportunities and building on their knowledge and understanding through a range of activities.

🌳 Trip to Pool Park
We also enjoyed a lovely trip to Pool Park, where we extended our learning around Dear Zoo and The Gruffalo. This provided lots of opportunities for the children to connect stories with the world around them and enjoy learning outdoors.

👐 Sensory Learning
Sensory tuff trays have been a big part of our week across the rooms, giving the children opportunities to explore different textures, materials and experiences while developing their curiosity and creativity.

🥪 Developing Independence
Our Pre-School children have particularly enjoyed rolling snack. They are able to independently choose which snack they would like and serve themselves, supporting their confidence, decision-making and independence.

It has been a wonderful week filled with stories, sensory exploration, outdoor adventures and opportunities for the children to become increasingly independent. 🌟

10 YEARS OF MUDDY BOOTS TURLIN MOOR! 🌿🥾

The countdown is officially on… just 10 days to go! 🎉

On 10th October at 10am, we’ll be opening our doors and welcoming our wonderful Muddy Boots families, past and present, to celebrate a very special milestone — 10 amazing years of Muddy Boots Turlin Moor! ❤️

We’ll start with a good old-fashioned welly walk across the field, before heading back to nursery where activities, special moments and plenty of memories await.

It will be a chance to look back at the little milestones, the big moments, the muddy adventures, the friendships, the laughter and all the wonderful memories we’ve shared over the years. 🥹❤️

Whether your little one joined us recently or was one of our very first Muddy Boots children, you are part of our story.

So dust off those wellies, bring your memories and come celebrate with us! 🥾🎈

What a wonderful week of learning and exploration we’ve had across nursery!

🐾 Baby Room – Our baby room have been focusing on the Gruffalo story 📕

Our babies have been enjoying Gruffalo-inspired sensory trays, exploring different textures, colours and materials through their senses. They have been encouraged to touch, feel, scoop and investigate, while developing their curiosity and early communication skills. We have also been exploring patterns and shapes through playful, hands-on experiences.

🐻 Toddler Room – Our toddler’s have been reading We’re Going on a Bear Hunt🧸

Our toddlers have been joining in with We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, bringing the story to life through sensory exploration and learning walks. They have been exploring different environments and textures, developing their vocabulary and using their senses to investigate the world around them. We have also been looking at shapes and patterns through our activities and play.

🌱 Pre-School – Our preschoolers have been reading The Giant Turnip🫜

Our pre-school children have been exploring the story of The Giant Turnip, using it as inspiration for a variety of learning experiences. They have been investigating patterns, shapes and sensory materials, as well as going on learning walks connected to the story. The children have enjoyed talking about what they can see, finding things in their environment and developing their understanding through practical exploration.

Throughout the nursery, the children have been learning through play, sensory experiences and exploration, building confidence, curiosity and a love of learning along the way. 🌈

🌈 What we got up to this week at Muddy Boots 🌈

Across the nursery, we have been focusing on building strong and meaningful bonds with the children and supporting them to develop positive relationships with both peers and practitioners. Alongside this, the children have also been exploring emotions and helping children recognise, express and begin to understand their different feelings through age-appropriate activities and conversations.
Our babies have had a brilliant week with lots of sensory exploration and are settling in beautifully creating lots of meaningful relationships with their key workers.
It has been such a lovely week filled with opportunities to connect, explore, communicate and learn together.

What a brilliant first week of term we have had🍂🍃

This week we have been celebrating our ‘All About Me’ topic and getting to know all of the wonderful children in our nursery.
We have been delighted to welcome some new faces, alongside lots of familiar faces and it has been lovely watching new friendships blossom.
Our focus across the nursery has been revolving around adults getting to know each child as an individual, learning all about their interests, personalities and what makes them special, whilst building trusting relationships and strong bonds. We have incorporated lots of activities around emotions to help ease in such a huge transition period.

We have had lots of outdoor learning opportunities to help expose children within our brilliant community, whilst enjoying blackberry picking, lots of rainy walks and looking at the different types of houses we live in.
What a brilliant first week back, we can’t wait to show you all what we get up to next week 🌸🌈

Over the last week we have been trying to incorporate more cooking / preparing meals with the children🥗🥘

By involving children with preparing meals, they are able to foster a sense of safety in the kitchen environment which naturally encourages better eating habits. We have been talking with our toddlers and preschoolers on how to correctly cut with a plastic knife.

Encouraging children to participate with cooking helps within these 3 areas of development:

🍂 Helps develop fine motor skills: Holding and pressing down builds hand strength and finger coordination.

🍂 Helps develop Confidence: Children feel proud and independent when contributing to family meals.

🍂 Helps encourage better eating habits: Children are more likely to taste new fruits and vegetables if they help prepare them.

Over the last few weeks children have made Egg free cakes, Pizza’s, Roasted Tomato soup, Cheese twists, Flap jacks, Banana bread and Smoothies 🍌🍅🍰

Last Thursday we were extremely lucky to collaborate alongside the Family hub’s free fun day ⭐️
Here we invited parents of the local community into our baby room who have shown an interest in our beautiful purpose built nursery. They were able to enjoy a ray of activities and see what we offer and learn a little bit more about our ethos.
Thank you to everyone to came and visited!

Some of our toddlers / pres schoolers then enjoyed a walk over to the fun day where they got to visit some of the factual information pop up tents, a firm favourite was the fun with food tent where they got to spin the wheel and try a vegetable!
We then finalised their trip with a little visit to the police van where some of our muddy booters got to experience being a passenger 🚓
We were then lucky enough to be offered an ice cream to which the children all enjoyed back in the garden! 🍦
