✨ Graig Ddu Learners Turn Ingredients into Something Special✨

Our learners from Graig Ddu have been putting their shopping skills into practice and turning their ingredients into some fantastic homemade treats!

Following a successful shopping trip, learners worked hard to select the items they needed before developing their independence, teamwork and cooking skills in the kitchen. The delicious results speak for themselves!

Well done to everyone involved for their enthusiasm, effort and creativity. We are so proud of the confidence and skills our learners continue to develop through these valuable real-life experiences.

⭐️Amazing Achievements in Seren Fach! ⭐️

Learners in Seren Fach have been busy developing their targeting skills using Eye Gaze technology, demonstrating excellent focus, determination and engagement throughout their activities.

Using this innovative technology, learners have been practising their ability to make choices, improve accuracy and interact with a range of engaging tasks, helping to build confidence, communication skills and independence along the way.

🌿 Join Us for Our Give & Gain Day! 🌿

We are delighted to invite parents, carers, and members of our wider community to our Give & Gain Day on Friday 23 October, starting at 9:30am.

Together, we will be continuing the development of our school sensory garden, an important space that supports wellbeing, sensory development and outdoor learning for our pupils.

By getting involved, you will:
✅ Help enhance our school environment
✅ Work alongside staff and families
✅ Play a key role in strengthening our school community

No specialist skills are needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to help!

⭐️Building Strength and Confidence at the Gym!⭐️

Learners from Graig Ddu have been enjoying regular visits to the gym, where they have been working hard to develop their physical skills, fitness and wellbeing.

Through a range of activities and exercises, learners have been building strength, coordination and confidence while learning the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

It has been fantastic to see their determination, enthusiasm and willingness to challenge themselves. We are incredibly proud of the progress they continue to make and the positive attitudes they bring to every session.

🌟 Shopping for Success! 🌟

Our learners from Graig Ddu have been busy putting their budgeting and decision-making skills into practice by purchasing items for their upcoming Food Skills lessons.

This hands-on experience helps develop independence, confidence and essential life skills, all while preparing for some exciting cooking activities.

Learners from Dosbarth Blodau used shopping lists to find all the ingredients needed for next week's Food Skills session, making sure they stayed within budget. A great opportunity to practise money skills, independence and real-world life skills while out in the community.

🍂 Harvest Festival Appeal 🍂

As we prepare for our annual Harvest Festival, we are kindly asking for donations of non-perishable food items to help support our local food bank.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will help make a difference to individuals and families within our community.

Suggested donations include:
🥫 Tinned vegetables, soup, fruit and beans
🍝 Pasta, rice and noodles
🥣 Cereal and porridge
☕ Tea and coffee
🥛 Long-life milk
🛒 Other non-perishable food items

Donations can be brought into school before Friday 16th October.

Celebrating Our Amazing Teaching Assistants!

To mark Teaching Assistant Appreciation Day, learners from the Navigators Department, in partnership with Y Lab, took part in a very special project.

Our talented learners designed and created a unique keyring and personalised poem card for every Teaching Assistant across the school as a heartfelt thank you for all they do each day.

Teaching Assistants make a huge difference to the lives of our learners through their kindness, encouragement, dedication and support. We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact they have on our school community.

Well done to our learners and Y Lab team for creating such thoughtful gifts, and thank you to all of our wonderful Teaching Assistants for everything you do!

✨ Building Independence Every Step of the Way ✨

We are incredibly proud of the independence our learners are developing as they confidently navigate around the school using their canes. Through the fantastic collaboration between RCT Habilitation and QTVI in conjunction with Y Lab, and our dedicated staff team, learners are building essential mobility skills, confidence and self-reliance.

It is wonderful to see our learners becoming increasingly independent within their environment, confidently exploring familiar spaces and developing the skills needed to navigate their school day with greater assurance. Every step taken represents determination, progress and achievement, and we are delighted to celebrate these successes.
