Our ‘Read to the Beat’ drumming session at Penarth Library last week was a blast! Cool pics too! 😎🪘🪘🎵🎵

With the schools going back this week and the weather turning more autumnal, I guess summer is over, but what a summer it’s been!
I’ve led 51 individual African drumming sessions between 18 July and 28 August, including 36 ‘Read to the Beat’ sessions for libraries throughout South and West Wales.

Apart from a handful of drums that I always keep in my car, the rest are stored away until the next one.

Thank you to everyone who has booked in one of our African drumming sessions and helped to make summer 2026 one to remember!

One of our final African drumming sessions of the summer was at Llantwit Major Library this morning. We just love seeing people engaging with rhythm and group music making!

Our African drumming sessions have proven to be pretty popular this summer, especially in local libraries with our drumming workshops’ relevance to their ‘read to the beat’ theme. Nothing makes us happier than well attended/fully booked music sessions, showing just how important community/educational music making really is! 🪘🪘🎵🎵
