The paddling pool and water trays have been out this morning and the little ones have had the best time splashing, giggling, and enjoying some refreshing water play to keep cool! 💦

We then enjoyed a freezing cold ice pop 🧊

On Monday, the children celebrated world ocean day.
We talked about the amazing animals that live in the ocean.
The children learnt how we can look after our oceans and keep them clean:
🌊 By putting our rubbish in the bin.
🌊 Saving and not wasting water.
🌊 Caring for the sea animals.

They enjoyed making their own fish and creating N ocean for our sea creatures to swim in! 🐳🐡🐠🐙

As world turtle day is coming up next week the children have made their own turtles. 🐢 🌊

Together we learned some fun facts:
-Some turtles can live for more than 100 years.
-Sea turtles travel thousands of miles in the ocean.
-Turtles carry their homes — their shells — on their backs.
-Baby turtles are called hatchlings.
-There are both sea turtles and land tortoises.

Today is world bee day 🐝
The children have enjoyed learning about the parts of a bee and created their own bees 🐝

Fun facts we have learnt about bees:
🐝 A bee can visit thousands of flowers in one day.
🐝 Honey bees dance to tell other bees where flowers are.
🐝 There are more than 20,000 kinds of bees in the world.
🐝 Bees have 5 eyes!

The children planted their own radish seeds, we have enjoyed watering them and watching them grow. 🌱 🪴

As Jack and the Beanstalk is our book of the term, we used the radish plants as an example of how The magic beans made the beanstalk grow.

The children will be bringing home their radish plants, please keep us updated on the growth of your plants and send in any pictures via tapestry
