Yes animals are important. Be they wild or domestic, please don’t disturb them, please stay at proper campsites, rather than accidentally camp near a burrow, or badger set, or nest. Remember there’s multiple reasons why wild camping is illegal in Wales.

Terrible news has come of an awful avalanche on Broad Peak Pakistan, one of the world’s 8,000+ metre peaks.

Alas one of the deceased, is Nadhira Al Harthy. Some of you may remember my interview with her in Adventure She magazine.

She was an amazing mountaineer, and had submitted a few 8000+ peaks, including K2 as well as Everest. She was the second ever Omani and first woman from Oman to climb Everest.

She was so generous with her time when we chatted, so inspiring, so courageous, so wanting others to live their best life.

Two other people are also confirmed dead and several others including Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja who set the record for the fastest ascent of all 14 of the 8,000m peaks, are still missing.

My deepest condolences go to everyone impacted, especially of course to the family of the wonderful Nadhira Alharthy. I am so very sorry for your loss.

For the wild campers be you in tents, vans, or other, please note the request to “Camp only where you have permission.” This means advance permission from the landowner. So you need to find, ask and get a “yes” from the landowner. No ‘I thought it was ok.’

Gas stoves, esbit stoves, all stoves can cause fires.

Please let’s keep Pembrokeshire Coast safe for all.

It was absolutely brilliant. It was lovely to see you again after all these years.
Thank you to for saying hello. It was great to finally meet you in person.
Both Jo and Kirsten have written fabulous articles for Adventure She magazine.
It was also great to catch up with and to even chat in Welsh. You’re doing great Tori, thank you for making the effort to learn it.
