Who says dressing up is just for the children? 😄🎭

In Early Years, we know that children learn so much by watching the adults around them. By joining in with dressing up and role play, our staff model imagination, confidence, communication and, most importantly... how to have fun! 🤩

This video proves our adults are just as good at getting into character as the children!

After all, the best learning happens when everyone joins in. 💛

🐔☀️ CHICKEN UPDATE☀️🐔

While school’s out, Luna, Libby, Mario, Princess Peach and Doody are certainly not being left to their own devices.

Our feathered friends have visitors every single day making sure they’re fed, watered and living in a nice clean home. 🧹🌽💦 And judging by the amount of clucking that goes on, they are absolutely LOVING the company! 🐔💬

They’ve even had some very special little visitors from Honeyshutes Nursery! We’re not sure who enjoyed the visit more — the children or the chickens!

A HUGE thank you to all our wonderful staff who have volunteered their time during the holidays to pop in and look after our fabulous five. Luna, Libby, Mario, Princess Peach and Doody would like to say thank you too.

Good luck to our CEO, Stuart Bellworthy, and his friend as they take on this challenge to support our pupils.

Connect Academy Trust is an inclusive, values-based family of 9 primary schools in Newton Abbot, Torbay and Plymouth. We educate and support 3,300 children, including a high proportion of children who are disadvantaged, have additional needs and do not have easy access to local educational sites.

With our schools spread over South Devon, we need a second minibus to enable these children to get to sports fixtures and complete educational visits as part of our curriculum, including 30 Ways to Connect.

Fundraising activities include Stuart Bellworthy (CEO) and friend Peter Healy walking the 100 mile South Hams Way this summer and future fundraising events in each Connect school in 2026/27.

The school may be closed, but there’s still plenty happening behind the scenes! 🧹✨

While everyone is enjoying the summer break, our amazing cleaning team has been hard at work getting the school sparkling clean and ready for the new academic year.

A huge shout-out and heartfelt thank you to our fantastic cleaners for everything they do. 💙 Not everyone is featured in this video, but every member of the team has been working incredibly hard to make sure our school is ready to welcome everyone back.

We really couldn’t do it without you – thank you for all your dedication and hard work! 🌟

Try a practice run

The school gate, the playground, the walk to school. Some children feel like it's a little less big if it's not brand new on day one. Why not give a practice visit to the school gate a go during the summer and see how it feels?

However you and your family are feeling about September, Connect schools are here to make sure your child gets the best start possible.

Well... we always expected a little excitement in the final days of term, but we didn’t quite expect sharks and dinosaurs to take over the classrooms! 🦈🦖

Luckily, our pupils were brave enough to survive the invasion, and everyone made it safely to the summer holidays! What a way to end the school year!
