Our ‘Zoom Zone’ has been one of the most popular playground activities for both our Primary and Secondary students. It has provided a fun and engaging way for our students to develop important life skills, including riding bikes and scooters, understanding traffic lights and recognising road safety signs.

Over the summer, we were incredibly fortunate to install a brand-new Road Track from Signet Play, alongside purchasing additional bikes and scooters thanks to a generous grant from the Breakaway Committee.

Rafi says “ Thank you very much for the track. I like it very much!” and Eli C says “It’s really good and fun! My favourite part is the fuel station.”

We’ve enjoyed the fresh, creative unstructured play moments the track has sparked, and we’re excited to offer more structured road-safety sessions as students gain independence, creating a space that’s both engaging and practical for breaks and outdoor activities.

We are excited to see our students continuing to build their confidence, independence and road safety skills while of course having lots of fun along the way!

Gesher is looking for a new Sukkah! Our Sukkah has been a wonderful place for our children, their families and staff to celebrate Sukkot in for the last six years, but sadly is needing to retire at the end of this Sukkot.

Is your new (or almost new) Sukkah in need of a new home? Maybe your family has outgrown your current Sukkah? Or perhaps you're feeling inspired by the season and would like to generously donate a new Sukkah with Schach . Whichever way you might be able to help, please send us a DM or email us at [email protected] so we can discuss further.

Mr Havey’s volunteering journey began in May 2025, initially helping out with our Primary Students in the Gesher Cafe, assisting in our Malchut class with Life Skills, and helping to prepare our students for community trips.

Mr Harvey recently wrote about his experience in the Pinner Shul magazine (click the image to read the full article), and we were honoured to be mentioned.

Shana Tova from all of us at Gesher School! 🎉

You could feel the BUZZing energy in the halls yesterday! Our Primary and KS3 students couldn't "bee-lieve" it when real live bees (safely tucked in an enclosed hive) came to visit for a Rosh Hashanah bee-keeping workshop. They searched for the Queen bee, took a "poll-on" their favourite beeswax scent, tried on the netted bee-keeping hat, and even got to taste fresh honey straight from the hive! The verdict? Sweeter than Tesco's! 🍯

But the celebrations didn't stop there. Every morning this week, Mr Bradley has sounded the Shofar to get us spiritually and mentally ready for the Chagim ahead, and some very brave students gave it a go themselves! Our primary classes made beautiful Rosh Hashanah cards with Miss Abigail, and there's been plenty of friendly competition over Kahoot quizzes about the festivals to come.

We're so proud of how much our students know about Rosh Hashanah - including Leora, who summed it up perfectly: "Rosh Hashanah is the start of the new year! We eat apples and honey!" 🍎🍯

We are so back for our 10th year!

It has been so lovely to see everyone in school today, and we have already had some great time in class. A huge welcome to our new students that joined us this year and welcome back to everyone returning. Here's a few moments from classes today.

We can’t wait to see everyone back at school next week! The end of the holidays can stir up feelings of both excitement and confidence about the new school year, or maybe your child is feeling a little nervous or apprehensive. Here are some conversation starters to help ease the transition from summer break to school term.

"If your feelings about school were a color, what color would they be right now?"

"What does the nervous feeling in your body feel like? Is it like butterflies, a heavy rock, or fizzy soda?"

"Is there someone from last year that you’re looking forward to seeing?"
"What is the very first thing you want to do when you walk into the classroom?"

"What are you feeling most confident about, and what's one thing you'd like a little extra support with?”

Whatever feelings your child is having, reassure your child that their feelings are valid, and we are looking forward to welcoming them back into the classroom.

At Gesher, our OTs work as part of a close-knit, onsite therapy team delivering meaningful, evidence-based support across fine and gross motor skills, self-care and sensory processing. You'll collaborate with teachers, families and fellow therapists to ensure every child gets the right support, in the right way.

We'd love to hear from you if you:
✅ Hold HCPC registration and have experience working with children with SEN
✅ Bring strong clinical reasoning alongside a creative, flexible approach
