📚🌿 Stick Man – Our Focus for Preschool This Week! 🌿

This week, our little learners have been exploring the wonderful story of Stick Man by Julia Donaldson. 🌳

The children got creative and made their very own Stick Men using playdough, developing their fine motor skills, creativity and imagination along the way. 👐🎨

We loved seeing their unique creations and the wonderful ideas they came up with! ❤️

🦔🍂 Process Over Product! 🍂🦔
Our toddlers have been getting creative after looking at a picture of a hedgehog! 🥰
Using their own ideas, exploring different materials and making their own unique versions, the children were encouraged to enjoy the process rather than focus on the finished product. 🎨✨
Through this hands-on activity, the children developed their creativity, fine motor skills and confidence, while exploring textures and expressing themselves in their own special way.
Every creation is unique, and that’s what makes them so wonderful! ❤️

🍂🥣 Autumn Sensory Soup! 🥣🍂

Our little explorers have been busy creating their very own Autumn sensory soup, mixing, pouring, scooping and exploring a wonderful variety of natural resources. 🌿🍁

From the different smells, textures and colours to the sounds of pouring and mixing, this hands-on activity provided lots of opportunities for sensory exploration and curiosity.

It also supported our curriculum focus Ready for Life as the children practised:
🫗 Pouring and transferring — developing coordination and control
🥄 Mixing and stirring — strengthening fine motor skills
👃 Exploring different smells — engaging the senses and building awareness
🍂 Using a range of resources — making choices, experimenting and problem-solving
🤝 Sharing and taking turns — building confidence and social skills

Learning through play, exploring the world around us and developing skills that children can carry with them into everyday life. 💛🍁
