A huge congratulations to our talented House Art Competition winners. Their fantastic artwork impressed the judges and will soon be proudly displayed in the Music Room corridor for the whole school community to enjoy.

A big thank you to everyone who took part and shared their creativity, imagination, and artistic flair. We loved seeing the incredible range of ideas and talent on show.

A Big House Welcome for Our Year 2 Boys!

There was plenty of excitement in assembly as our Year 2 pupils discovered which House they will be joining in September.

At St John's, every pupil becomes part of one of our four Houses: Churchill, Lawrence, Lincoln, or Oates, where teamwork, school spirit, and friendly competition are at the heart of school life. Throughout the year, valuable House points are awarded to pupils as they compete for the prestigious House Activities Cup and the Burton Page Cup.

Congratulations to all our enthusiastic new House members, we're sure they'll make fantastic additions to their teams. Let the friendly competition begin!

Our year one classes had an amazing day at Hobbledown Heath, combining hands-on learning with plenty of fun!

The boys began by working collaboratively to create enrichment activities for the meerkats, before watching with excitement as the animals searched for their hidden treats. After a relaxing picnic in the shade, they explored the park, observing a variety of animals and impressively applying their Science knowledge as they discussed different animal groups.

With the temperatures rising, there was only one place to head next, the splash zone! There was lots of laughter as everyone cooled off before drying out for the journey home.

A wonderful day filled with learning, teamwork, and unforgettable memories!

Reception dived into their Sea Creatures topic by creating their very own clay fish!

Little hands were busy pinching, rolling, and moulding the clay, giving their fine motor skills a fantastic workout along the way. The finishing touch came as they carefully pressed colourful sequins into the damp clay to create shimmering scales, bringing each fish to life with its own unique personality.

What a wonderful combination of creativity, imagination, and hands-on learning!

Our senior pupils put their engineering skills to the test as they designed and built spaghetti towers under strict competition conditions for the Mark Jones Award.

Using their knowledge of framework structures, they carefully planned, constructed, and then faced the nail-biting moment of testing to see whose tower could stand the tallest and strongest. A fantastic challenge that showcased creativity, teamwork, and resilience!

Year 5 pupils have been developing their skills, teamwork and game awareness while enjoying some fantastic cricket sessions. It’s been great to see their enthusiasm, energy and growing confidence in every game.

Year 5 have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the artist Dean Russo. Inspired by his distinctive style, they created their own animal portraits using vibrant colours, bold patterns and his signature black outline details.

Pupils showed fantastic creativity and enthusiasm, producing a striking collection of bold and expressive artworks.
