Residents of Thornton-le-Dale,
Have you spotted our Mini Police Squad on a local patrol yet?

Pictured: TLD Mini Police Squad, inspecting the local park for graffiti, litter and damage; a report has been sent to North Yorkshire Council with our findings, with request for some offensive words to be cleaned-up!

We are delighted to be delivering a Mini Police Program with Thornton-le-Dale Primary. Led by Ryedale's Neighbourhood Policing team, the program involves lots of hard work, including collaboration with local businesses and agencies on issues within the Thornton-le-Dale community that matter to the squad.

While the squad will be learning more about their local community, they need no lesson or encouragement for appreciating their community.
The squad are proud to patrol their community, and have been enthusiastic about helping to tackle issues of littering, graffiti and dog fouling, alongside Anti-Social Driving in the village car park. Preparation for litter-picking and signage-making alongside the TLD Hub and he North York Moors National Park is underway.

Keep an eye out for the Mini Police Squad on future patrols and be sure to give us a wave!

A huge thank you to Ryedale Vets who came into our EYFS classroom to share with us all about the role of a vet. The children learnt about what animals they help and how to look after pets which linked to their learning about ‘People who Help Us’. The children loved the hands on learning!

Always a highlight of our PE offer - 2 days of cycling with ex-Olympian Phil Bateman 🚴🏼 All our children from EYFS-Year 6 showed resilience, perseverance and the ability to challenge themselves on equipment such as the ramps. Well done to you all 💚 Our next enrichment day includes Skateboarding 🛹
