MAYOWA and the SEA OF WORDS 📖

I thoroughly enjoyed this engaging book and flew through it in a couple of days! It is original, unique and well-written, dealing with several potentially difficult themes such as refugees, racism, hate speech, secrets, compassion and empathy in a bite-sized and child-friendly way.

Ten-year-old Mayowa goes to stay with her grandpa and decides to try to get to the bottom of his strange habit of jumping on books. She discovers that her family have the unusual ability to jump on a book, a power which must only ever be used for the greater good. But they discover that there are others with this ability too and find themselves racing to a corrupt politician from using this power for his hateful agenda.

I read this book alongside my 9-year-old daughter and we loved it 💛🧡

Sunny long weekend ☀️
At Petworth 📍

Petworth is a magnificent Treasure House displaying one of the finest art collections in the care of the nestled in a 700-acre deer park.
Yesterday was our second time visiting and we managed to spot the 🦌 The park is truly huge and during the day the deer are hiding from the visitors 🌿

📖The Land of Lost Things by Andy Griffiths

This brilliantly illustrated book will sweep young readers up into the action from the first page and is guaranteed to get them giggling. Mia enjoyed reading this book so much.

The story centres around the reader helping two main characters (one of whom is YOU) as they explore the Land of Lost Things on their way to their next great adventure.

The illustrations are fabulous and make it enjoyable to read 📚
