Harvest time is always a favourite at Old Dairy Farm Nursery!

There’s nothing quite like seeing the combines and tractors hard at work right on our doorstep. The children loved watching the harvest unfold, asking lots of questions, and learning where our food comes from through real-life experiences 🌾🚜

Today, we’d like to officially introduce our senior leadership team:
Elena Buchholdt – Nursery Manager & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Serena Wicks – Deputy Manager & Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO)

Together, Elena and Serena bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion for early years education. They work closely with our children, families and team to ensure every child receives the highest quality care, learning opportunities and support.

Father’s Day 2026!

A huge thank you to all the dads and grandads who joined us to celebrate this morning.

The children loved showing their special visitors around the nursery and forest school, it was wonderful to see so many families join us!

Alpacas Sports Day 2026 🏅👏

A big thankyou to all families who came to support and cheer their little ones on! And a special thank you to Nigel for organising and running a wonderful Sports Day for our Alpaca children.

Name Our Chicks! 🐣 The children have been fascinated watching our new chicks explore their home and learning all about how to care for them. Now our chicks need names ! Pop your name suggestions in the comments below and we’ll let you know which names the children choose.

Weather Exploration ☀️⚡️⛈️

The recent rainy weather sparked lots of curiosity in both our Lambs and Alpacas rooms. The children explored different types of weather through sensory play, sharing their experiences of rain, wind, sunshine and rainbows.

Our Alpacas transformed their ideas into music, creating rain tubes and experimenting with different materials to recreate the sounds of rain and thunder.

A wonderful example of how children’s natural curiosity leads their learning.
