It’s going to be a hot week this week at nursery!
We cannot stress enough:- Please dress your child in cool loose fitting clothing like shorts and T-shirts!
Please bring spare clothes as we will be having water play to keep cool.
Cool drinks will be provided throughout the day. We will be keeping children as cool as possible.
If your child struggles with the heat and we cannot keep them cool, we will be in touch with you. Heat stroke is extremely dangerous so we will be monitoring the temperature throughout the day!

Sharing from Deaf Empowering Network
This Deaf Awareness Week, why not learn the British Sign Language (BSL) alphabet?👋
BSL is a vital way many Deaf people communicate.
Even just knowing your ABCs in BSL is a powerful step toward bridging communication gaps and showing support 💜

Nappy Changing Update!
We continue need to ask for nappies only so that we can ensure Nappy Change times are a good experience for your children.
We ask that you only pack nappies in your child’s bag and not pull ups. Unless your child is fully toilet training and accessing the toilet themselves and just need a pull up on for a couple of weeks to save lots of accidents.
Did you know?! Pants are best for this, as new technologies in nappies and pull ups are designed to keep you child feeling dry - a training child need to feel wet to know something is happening and they need to act on this.
Why we say no pull ups?
Changing a pull up means that we have to remove your children’s shoes and lower clothing fully, some children really struggle with that and it takes them away from their play and learning for a lot longer.
Pull ups often leak as they are designed to hold less urine as aren’t designed to replace a nappy.
Your child might be easier to change at home with a pull up, but you may only have 1 or 2 children to change at a time - sometimes our nappy changing runs can exceed 20++ (2-3 room).
We are happy for you to continue to use pull ups at home, however at nursery we need your child to have nappies.
If it’s easier for you, you can bring a pack of nappies in to leave at nursery and we will let you know when they are running low.
Please also ensure that your child has a packet of wipes in their bag sufficient for the changes throughout the day, and at least one full set of clothing that we can change them into. Nursery is often a messy place to be, as children access water, paint and sensory experiences, resulting in clothing changes throughout their session.
