📚💜 Keep up to date with your child’s learning! 💜📚

A little reminder to our families to take some time to log into Learning Journals and have a look at what has been happening in your child’s class recently.

There has already been lots of fantastic learning, exploring and hard work taking place across the school, and Learning Journals are a lovely way for you to see some of the experiences your child has been enjoying and learning from. 🌟

We know how busy family life can be, but even taking a few minutes to have a look together can provide a great opportunity to chat with your child about what they have been doing in school and celebrate their learning at home. 🥰

If you are having any difficulties logging into Learning Journals, please get in touch with the school office and we’ll be happy to help. 💜

We hope you enjoy having a wee peek at all the wonderful learning happening across Meethill! 📖✨

💜 Made Me Smile & Wider Achievements 💜

One of my favourite parts of the week is hearing about the wonderful things our children have been getting up to — both in school and beyond.

On Friday we celebrated another group of our Made Me Smile children, recognising the kindness, effort, thoughtfulness and little moments that make such a difference to others. It is always lovely to hear the reasons behind each nomination and to see how proud the children are when their efforts are recognised. 😊🌟

We also had lots to celebrate through our Wider Achievements. We heard about children taking to the stage in main cast roles, creating some seriously impressive structures on Minecraft, learning to ride a bike, achieving something fantastic with their football club and making brilliant progress with their swimming. 🎭🏗️🚲⚽🏊

What I love most is the variety of these achievements. There is no one definition of success — sometimes it is standing up on a stage, sometimes it is mastering a new skill, sometimes it is working hard at something you love, and sometimes it is simply having the confidence to keep trying.

A huge well done to everyone we celebrated last week. You should all be very proud of yourselves. 💜

And, as always, please keep sharing those wider achievements with us. We absolutely love hearing what our children get up to outside of school!

Keep shining, Meethill! 🌟

🌟 💜Wider Achievements – Keep them coming! 🌟💜

A little reminder to families that we love hearing about the fantastic things our children are achieving outside of school! 💫

Whether your child has achieved something in sport, music, dance, art, hobbies, clubs, fundraising or simply tried something new and worked hard at it, we’d love to celebrate it with our school community. 💜

If your child has a wider achievement they would like us to celebrate, please send a photo if you have and a little bit of information to the school. These will be shared as part of our Shining Bright celebrations. ✨

It doesn’t have to be a huge achievement — we want to celebrate the things that make our children proud! 🌟

🌲 P1/2 Trip to the woods tomorrow🌲
The forecast is still looking good for tomorrow’s trip to the woods. Could pupils please wear footwear appropriate for the long wet grass and pack a change of clothes for when they get back to school in case they get wet (which will be very likely when they are having lots of fun!).

✨💜Our first Shining Assembly! 💜✨

What a lovely way to finish our week at Meethill! 🌟 Today we celebrated our very first Value Champion and HT Spotlight awards, recognising children who have been living our Meethill values and making a positive difference in our school community. 💜

We also had the chance to celebrate some fantastic Wider Achievements, including a wonderful sailing achievement ⛵ and a clever crochet creation 🧶. We love hearing about all the amazing things our children get up to both in and out of school!

A huge well done to everyone who was recognised today — keep Shining Bright! 🌟💜

✨ SHINING BRIGHT AT MEETHILL! ✨

On Friday we celebrated another week of our wonderful Meethill pupils and the many ways they have been Shining Bright! 🌟

🏆 Wider Achievements 🏆
We’ve loved hearing about the fantastic achievements our pupils have been working towards outside school too!

⚽ Football – working hard, showing teamwork and sportsmanship and making great progress on the football pitch.

🩰 Ballet & Tap – A huge well done for achieving new levels in her ballet and tap dancing. That takes dedication, practice and perseverance!

🧱 LEGO Masters – We’ve also been blown away by some amazing LEGO masterpieces! Putting creativity and imagination to work with some very impressive builds!

❤️💙💚💛New House Captains 💛💚💙❤️
A huge congratulations to our new House Captains! We’re looking forward to seeing them take on their new leadership roles, represent their houses and help make Meethill an even better place to be.

📚 Meet our Library Squad! 📚
We’re also delighted to introduce our new Library Squad! These pupils will be helping to look after our library, encourage others to enjoy reading for pleasure and make our library a welcoming place for everyone. 📖✨

A big well done to everyone who has been learning, achieving, creating, leading and giving things a go this week. 🌟

Keep Shining Bright, Meethill! 💫💜

🌟💜 Meethill is Shining Bright 💜🌟

Last week we had lots to celebrate at our weekly assembly.

🐾 A huge well done to one of our pupils who took 3rd place in the Veteran dog category at the Peterhead Scottish Week Dog Show! What a fantastic achievement! 🐶🏆

🦎 We were also blown away by the kindness and creativity of one of our families, who raised an incredible £800 for a special charity by making and selling bead lizards! 💜 What an amazing way to use a talent to help others.

😊 And then came our first “Made Me Smile” awards of the term!

These awards celebrate those little things our PSAs notice that make them smile. Sometimes it’s helping to tidy equipment away when others haven’t, supporting younger pupils on the trim trail, or simply noticing when someone needs a helping hand. 💕

They might seem like small things, but those small acts of kindness, teamwork and thoughtfulness make a BIG difference.

💜 Lots to be proud of at Meethill! 💜

💜🌟 Our Meethill pupils are shining! 🌟💜

Today we added the first of our newly colourful leaves to our Wider Achievement Positivitree! 🍃✨

From passing swimming levels to completing a Hyrox as a team, our pupils have been achieving, challenging themselves and making us incredibly proud. 💜

We want to hear about all of your child’s achievements — big or small! Whether it’s something they’ve worked hard at, a new skill they’ve mastered, or a trophy/medal they’ve achieved outside of school, please share it with us by emailing the school.

We love celebrating these achievements in our weekly assembly and watching our Positivitree grow as we celebrate the wonderful things our pupils do. 🌳💫

Last session P.5 and P.6 (new P.6 and P.7) were involved in a Doric project with Aberdeenshire Museums Service. This film shows the work they have been doing on the new Aberdeenshire Museum being built in Peterhead and our pupils make an appearance! Albeit a brief one!!!
