🗣 It’s okay to question things! We're helping children look at ideas with a curious mind. Today the children debated whether or not St John's should have extra playtime!!

Instead of just accepting what they hear, they’re learning to check sources, look for evidence, and decide for themselves if something is trustworthy. It’s all about building critical thinking skills! 🚀

🐣 𝐄𝐠𝐠-𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!🐣

What a wonderful experience we've had watching our chicks hatch this week! The children have been fascinated by the whole process, eagerly checking on the eggs and then watching in amazement as the chicks made their way into the world. 💛

This hands-on learning opportunity has sparked so many questions, conversations, and moments of awe as the children learned about life cycles, growth, and caring for living things.

The highlight has been seeing the children's faces light up as they observed the fluffy chicks exploring their new surroundings and growing in confidence each day. 🐥✨

A truly memorable experience that has brought learning to life and created some very special memories for our children.

🌟 𝐀 𝐖𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭! 🌟

It was so lovely to welcome our new Reception children and their families on Tuesday. The children had a fantastic time exploring a range of activities linked to school readiness, giving them a little taster of what life in Reception will be like this September.

There was lots of excitement as the children engaged in learning activities, made new friends, and began to explore their new environment. One of the biggest highlights of the afternoon was sampling the delicious puddings they’ll be able to enjoy at lunchtime in September! 🍮😋

The fun continued outdoors with PE games, where the children showed great enthusiasm, teamwork, and plenty of smiles. ⚽🏃‍♀️☀️

We are so proud of how confidently the children joined in and can’t wait to welcome them back again at our

For them, one of the absolute best parts of their day is seeing the children’s excitement when they ask what’s on the menu and seeing those happy faces at lunchtime!😊

A big THANK YOU! Our kitchen staff do so much more than cook; they bring energy, care, and kindness to our school every day.

🔎 Just like scientists, children make educated guesses based on what they already know, then test their ideas to see if they make sense. This reasoning helps children see learning as exploration not just finding the 'right' answer.

It's about building and revising ideas, understanding that all theories are works in progress 🚀

🦸‍♂️ Super Veggies to the Rescue! 🥕🍅✨

Last week, the children enjoyed reading the story Supertato: Run Veggies Run! and had lots of fun retelling the adventure using our small world play resources. 🌟📚

Inspired by the story, the children created their own superhero fruits and vegetables, using their imagination and creativity to design amazing characters with special powers and costumes. 🎨💥

The children also took their superhero adventures outside, becoming veggie heroes in their imaginative play as they ran, rescued friends, and saved the day together! 🦸‍♀️🌿✨

Throughout the week, the activities supported fine motor skills, communication, storytelling, confidence, and teamwork while encouraging lots of laughter and creative thinking. 💬🥦

We loved hearing all about the brave veggie heroes and their exciting super powers! 🍅🥕✨
