⭐ A huge thank you to our local PCSOs for visiting our Year 6 children to deliver an important online safety session and for taking the time to support and educate our pupils with such valuable advice 💻

https://www.facebook.com/share/18AgNA4f7J/

Our PCSOs were invited to talk to the year 6 children at Werrington Primary School about staying safe online.

During the session, they discussed topics such as:

💻Social media
💻Cyber-bullying
💻How to stay safe when using the internet

As the children get older it’s important they know how to use the internet appropriately and what to do if they encounter any issues.

You can find out more about how to stay safe online, and advice on how to report any concerns, on our website👉 https://orlo.uk/LEmcx

🌟 Can you help us finish our new construction play area? We’re creating a dedicated outdoor space where children can use diggers, trucks and other construction toys - but we’re missing one final ingredient: gravel.
If you have any spare gravel at home, leftover from a garden project, or know someone who might, we’d be so grateful for a donation. Even a small bucketful helps us get the area ready for the children to enjoy.
Please drop donations at the school office or message us to arrange a time. Thank you for supporting our play and learning spaces.

🚨Y4 update - we have just had confirmation that the children have just left Caythorpe. The estimated time of arrival at school is 4:10pm. Please meet and collect the children from the KS1 playground.

🚨Y4 update - unfortunately, due to traffic delays, the coach has not yet arrived at Caythorpe. As a result, the children will not be back at school by 2:30 pm as planned.
We will provide a further update as soon as we are informed that they have departed Caythorpe. The estimated travel time back to school is approximately one hour.
Thank you for your understanding.

We’ve now had a chance to sort through all of your OPAL donations - thank you so much! Your generosity has been incredible. These loose parts are essential for sustaining high‑quality play opportunities for our children. As time goes on, we will need to replenish resources, so please do keep us in mind during any house or garden clear‑outs.
You may have spotted our new Donation Station on the KS2 playground. Any future donations can now be placed directly in there.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be opening up even more play areas for the children. They will also begin mixing across year groups and accessing a wider range of spaces across the school site. This development will continue over the next 18 months, and as new areas open, we’ll share specific items that the community may be able to help us source.
At the moment, we are particularly in need of:
* Picnic blankets
* Teddy bears
* Teddy bear picnic items such as a plastic tea set/plates
* Large storage boxes
* A water butt for developing a water play area
If you have any of these items - or know where we might be able to source them - we would love to hear from you.
We also have a much‑loved tyre play area, which the children absolutely adore. To keep this going, we need many more tyres. Car tyres and bicycle tyres are brilliant, and tractor tyres make fantastic social spaces and sand play areas. If you are able to help us source tyres of any kind, please let us know.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Mrs Watson and Miss Graham
