Today we had a very exciting discovery in our outdoor areaβ¦ a newt! π¦
The EYFS children were fascinated when they spotted it and were full of questions and curiosity. We spent time observing it carefully, talking about where it lives, how it moves and why itβs important to look after wildlife.
It was a lovely opportunity to explore nature, encourage curiosity and develop our understanding of the world around us.

Today the children created some wonderful names for our chicks, inspired by their yellow and brown colours, the sounds they made and the way they moved.
All of the suggested names were placed into a bag and we randomly selected 10 to name the chicks. It was a lovely activity that encouraged the children to observe the chicks closely and use their creativity and writing skills.

πβ¨ World Book Day in EYFS! β¨π
What a fantastic day celebrating the magic of reading! The children wowed us with their amazing costumes and loved sharing their favourite books from home with friends.
We built cosy reading dens, snuggled up with stories and even took our books outside to read with torches, turning reading into a real adventure.π¦π

The EYFS children have been learning about the Polar Regions and the animals that live there. They have developed their understanding by researching and sharing facts, creating fact files and non-fiction texts, and expressing their learning through paintings, puppets and craft activities. The children also enjoyed making penguins at the craft table, demonstrating creativity while reinforcing their knowledge of the topic.
