Welcoming our new Warden as we continue our tradition of excellence. Congratulations to Ms Jenny Davey on her appointment.

As Glenalmond College approaches its 180th year, we are delighted to mark an important moment in the life of the College with the appointment of Ms Jenny Davey as Warden.

This appointment represents continuity, stability, and vision for the future rooted in the enduring values that have shaped Glenalmond for generations.

Ms Davey has given many years of dedicated leadership to the College community, serving with distinction across a range of senior roles and earning the respect of colleagues, pupils, and OGs alike.

Her deep understanding of Glenalmond’s traditions, combined with her commitment to educational excellence and pastoral care, positions her perfectly to lead the College into its next chapter.

As we look ahead to this landmark 180th year, Glenalmond does so with confidence and ambition, building on its proud heritage while embracing the opportunities of the future.

Further details regarding the formal ceremonial installation of the Warden will follow in due course.

We warmly congratulate Ms Davey on her appointment and look forward to the next exciting stage in Glenalmond’s journey.

Calling all OGs- Are you ready to conquer Heartbreak Run 2025? 💪

The Heartbreak Run is back THIS SUNDAY- and we want our OG community out in force!

Now in its 10th year, this iconic Glenalmond tradition sends runners across 8.3 miles of breathtaking (and sometimes brutal!) Logiealmond terrain- including the infamous climb known simply as “The Quarry.”

Whatever the weather- snow, rain or ice- Coll spirit always shines through. Last year nearly 70 fearless runners took part… OG medalist Harris Pagett even smashed the course record!

Sunday 7th December 2025
1:00pm start from Amulree
Transport from College at 12:20pm (if needed)
Warm meal in the Dining Hall for every finisher!

So OGs... lace up those trainers. Whether you want to beat the record, beat your mates, or just beat the hills- this is your moment.

We are immensely proud to celebrate two of our distinguished OGs, David Sole OBE and Rob Wainwright OBE, who have been inducted into the Scottish Rugby Hall of Fame- joining 11 other greats in this year’s honours.

Both David and Rob are true legends of Scottish Rugby, known not only for their exceptional talent and leadership on the field but also for their enduring commitment to the sport and to the values it represents. Their achievements have inspired generations- from aspiring young players to seasoned professionals- and continue to serve as an example of teamwork, resilience, and dedication.

David Sole captained Scotland to their memorable Grand Slam victory in 1990, while Rob Wainwright earned distinction as a powerful back-row forward and as Scotland’s captain in the mid-1990s. Their impact extends far beyond their playing careers, with both men continuing to contribute meaningfully to their communities and to the wider sporting world.

We offer our warmest congratulations to David and Rob on this well-deserved recognition of their remarkable contributions to rugby and to Scotland.

Over half term, a group of Glenalmond pupils and staff took part in a deeply moving Battlefields Tour.

They stood where history was made, learning powerful stories of courage and sacrifice. The group visited and paid their respects at several significant sites, including the Somme and Ypres, where a number of OGs fell during the First World War.

Among them was the youngest, Second Lieutenant Francis W. A. Faithfull, at whose grave- in Bard Cottage just outside Ypres- our pupils placed a cross in remembrance.

It was a humbling and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

This weekend and today, the Glenalmond College community came together in remembrance.

On Sunday, we held our annual Remembrance Service, joined by many OGs who gathered with us to honour those who gave their lives in service.

Then, at 11am today, the whole school paused together in silent reflection- remembering the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of all who have served, and especially the many OGs who made the ultimate sacrifice.
