I am a private piano tutor working from my home near to Penrith… please see About for more info!

From the youngest to the oldest age I believe that musical education is always useful & fun! Whatever the age or ability, I create individual curricula for students to provide a well-rounded musical grounding. Typically this includes the traditional approach to piano playing - the study of pieces, scales, arpeggios & exercises along with music theory - but also I believe integral to the process o

f learning music, aural activities including (where & when possible), using little bells, singing, rhythm work, drumming & simple eurythmic activities. Additionally, improvisation & writing music are wonderful ways of self expression which I love to encourage! I offer the provision of studying for AB music exams from Prep Test/Initial Grade to Grade 8, including Grade 5 theory, at the appropriate time in their musical career. Intelligent practice is an integral part of learning to play the piano and I am a firm believer that frequent structured practice at home is of vital importance to the partnership between teacher and student in the adventure that is learning to play the piano!
