The last Solar Eclipse was in 1999 and the next one isn't predicted until 2090 so if you can, make a special memory with your family this evening from around 6pm (ish ~ I think the Moon works on Cornish time).

Stay safe wherever you are & remember not to look directly at the sun BUT there are loads of cool ways to see it happening with a bit of creativity and even just being there in the moment is special enough!

We are very excited to announce our annual 'Geevor Gala Day' celebration will be held on Sunday 2nd August! This year it will be bigger and better than ever before!

We will be joined by lots of former Geevor employees sharing their stories and experiences from working at Geevor, Aswell as a brilliant host of onsite activities, entertainment and music featuring, Alasdair Hoswell Author & Illustrator, Funny Faces Cornwall, Jenna Witts, Bryher's Boys, Boscastle Border Morris, Clint Hosking Music, around site entertainment from our very own Marc, and a vintage carousel!

An incredible range of great activities, all included in the entry price!

☀️❤️💛 LAST DAY @ THE PARK 💛❤️☀️

For a few years it's been tradition that we visit the park for a play to celebrate the hard work all of the children have put in this year ☀️

This Summer we were surprised by balloons galore AND an ice cream or lolly for EVERY child from the very generous Reene and Jenna (you'll know them as Spence's mum and Stanleys mum) 😍

Just look at the happy smiles and 'warm yer cockles' moments captured in Miss Smiths gorgeous, natural photos 😁

We couldn't be prouder of our school community ~ we are not just a school but a family. One with highs, lows, challenges, celebrations and everything in-between. Most people celebrate the end of the year on December 31st... for school staff, we reflect on July 23rd (at least it is for Team Pendeen). What a huge amount we have achieved, overcome, started, finished, celebrated, laughed, cried and above all, made incredible memories with your most precious humans that will always have a place in our heart ❤️💛

A HUGE thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the children of Pendeen for being fabulous, hardworking, hilarious and kind-natured 🙏🏼
A GINORMOUS thank you to our school families ~ without your support, love and input we simply couldn't achieve the things we do 🥰
And finally, an INFINITE thank yous to our AMAZING staff team ~ adults who would give their last rolo (and if you know how much we love chocolate, you'll know how much that means) and bend over backwards (literally sometimes) for children. It is our job to keep your children safe and happy but Team Pendeen go ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure your children's dreams come true. And I know I speak on behalf of Mr Summerfield when I say THANK YOU TEAM PENDEEN!

We hope everybodys Summer is filled with sunshine and treats and no matter what you're doing, we hope your Summer is everything that feels perfect for you with your families, friends and animals 😍❤️💛

💦 W A T E R F I G H T💦

Every year Mr Summerfield hosts the annual “Whole school water fight” - the biggest, wettest, most anticipated event of the Summer… (if someone could tell the sunshine next year that would be wonderful) ☀️💦

So many laughs, so many smiles and SO many soaking wet underpants! 😳😅

As you can see, I chose the job of ’Photographer‘ / ‘Dry Zone Superviser’ this year but it was lovely to see the smiles of children and adults alike! Very fun, very dry… 🤭😂

🥹 Lucy and Alice; We Salute You!🥹

It is an incredibly lucky thing to have worked alongside people that make ‘see you soons’ so difficult!

Alice ~ You are an absolutely AMAZING Early Year expert! You have a heart of gold, beautifully creative ideas, enough resilience to build an entire skyscraper and have given our school community more fundraising money, lamb experience, teamwork and love than we can shake a stick at! We are beyond grateful for EVERYTHING you bring to Team Pendeen and I know I speak on behalf of everybody that we are going to miss you more than you realise. Thank you for being our Best in Show❤️💛

Lucy ~ If ever there was a lady to sum up “protection of the human race” you are it! If ever you need a friend, colleague, professional, ear to listen to you or fashion tips Lucy is your lady and will jump proverbial hedges quicker than a race horse to advocate, protect and uphold the highest of standards… whilst still managing to run the school path in a beautiful dress! Our chair of LMC steps down for pastures new but we are ever so grateful for everything you have done for our school community 💃🏼

Ladies, the world needs more people like you both and we wish you both all the luck and love in the world for your futures! 🙏🏼

🥰 S E E Y O U S O O N 🥰

As I always say at Pendeen, it’s never goodbye, it’s just “see you soon” 🥰

Yesterday we had the honour to celebrate our Year 6s as they make their leap from primary school into their teenage years of fun, adventure and a new challenge 📚

Year 6s, you filled our hearts with happiness, laughter and oodles of warmth! ❤️💛 We hope we filled yours with love, safety and the ability to achieve incredible things!

Remember Year 6s, that you will always carry the best things about our Team in your heart and no matter the challenges or adventures that come your way; you belong, you are capable and you are MORE than enough!

Go forward into your next chapter with confidence, compassion, empathy and a spark of Team Pendeen fire in your belly that reminds you you are ready to chase your dreams! Keep us in your hearts, as we keep you in ours forever but remember that you have built a new set of life skills that have prepared you to spread your wings and fly… 🚀
