I'm a South Wales-based drummer, pianist and music tutor with 30+ years’ live experience and 15+ years of teaching. I offer one-to-one drum and piano lessons for all ages, plus live and session drumming for gigs, tours and studio work. Lessons available across Cardiff, the Vale, Bridgend and online.

Hi there, I’m Ian. I’m a drummer, pianist and music tutor based in South Wales, and I’ve just launched this page to share what I do, from 1:1 music lessons to live and session drumming.

I teach both drums and piano - either at your home or online - and work with all ages and levels, from beginners to experienced players. I’m also available for gigs, tours and studio work if you're looking for a reliable drummer who can play across styles and slot in quickly.

Here’s a recent session with the brilliant Thomas & Muse, featuring a tune by Julian Martin called Actually I Do. Always a pleasure to play alongside Ben Thomas (trumpet), Julian (piano) and Ross Thomas (bass).

This one might make it into the Brecon Jazz set in August – well worth checking out if you're heading that way.
