Our September 6-week beginner crochet course are now open for bookings — and these will be our final beginner courses in these locations for 2026. 💛

Whether you've always wanted to learn crochet or simply fancy trying a relaxing new hobby, our friendly classes are designed to help you feel comfortable from the very first stitch.

And don't worry if you've never held a crochet hook before — we'll guide you through everything step by step. 🧶

Everything is included, so there’s no need to buy lots of supplies before you start. Your yarn, hooks, patterns and materials are all provided — just come along and enjoy learning! ✨

Student Spotlight ✨

It's time for another Student Spotlight! 💜
One of my favourite things about teaching crochet is watching people discover just how much they can achieve. Every student has their own reason for joining, their own challenges to overcome, and their own crochet journey to be proud of.

This week's spotlight is on one of our lovely students, who joined my Beginners' class in September 2025.

1. How long have you been attending our classes?�I started the Beginners' class in September 2025.

2. What made you decide to join our classes?�I used to sit with my nana as a child and make finger chains. I'd always wanted to learn crochet properly, so when I saw the classes, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to learn from scratch.

3. What was your first class like?�It was fabulous! Fiona was so kind, welcoming and incredibly patient. She had prepared a booklet and a starter pack with all the learners' names, which really helped us get to know each other. The pack contained everything we needed to get started.

4. What has been the most challenging part of the classes?�Understanding that sometimes I can't count or read a pattern! 😂 But with Fiona's guidance and patience, my confidence has grown so much.

5. What do you enjoy most about the sessions?�I love the company of everyone in the class. We're all crocheting at different levels, but we help each other out and always have a laugh. Fiona talks us through everything step by step, and it's such a great feeling when you finish a project. Oh... and Emma's cakes! ❤️🍰

6. How have you improved since joining?�When I think back to my very first class, where I was just making a chain, compared to where I am now, I'm really proud of myself. I'm totally addicted to crochet now and do a little most evenings. It helps me relax, focus on one thing at a time, and quiet all the "open tabs" in my mind. It's done wonders for my mental health.

7. What achievement or piece of work are you most proud of?�I have two favourites—a Christmas wreath that I made as a gift for a friend, and a flower wreath that I made for myself.

8. What's your favourite memory from the classes?�Laughing at not being able to count! 😂

9. What would you say to someone thinking about joining?�The warmest welcome awaits you. Crochet is more than just making things—it's a relaxing, creative break that can boost your confidence really quickly. One ball of yarn can turn into something cosy, colourful and completely your own, and that feels pretty amazing.
My advice is to come along with patience, curiosity and a sense of fun. Don't worry about being perfect—wonky first stitches are all part of the experience! Stick with it, celebrate the small wins, and before you know it, you'll be saying, "I made that!" 💜

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Student Spotlight, but there are plenty more to come!
Today’s spotlight is Donna 💜

1. How long have you been attending our classes?
Just over a year.

2. What made you decide to join our classes?
Crochet was something I was always fascinated by, but nobody I knew could teach me, and I can’t learn from a book. So when I saw the class advertised, I signed up straight away! It’s very local to me, I work during the day, and the class time was perfect too.

3. What was your first class like?
My first class was brilliant! Fi is down-to-earth and very easy-going, which is perfect for me. I don’t do formal!

4. What has been the most challenging part of the classes?
Reading patterns – my head just can’t comprehend them!

5. What do you enjoy most about the sessions?
The relaxed atmosphere, and all the ladies who attend are fabulous people!

6. What would you say to someone thinking about joining?
Please sign up! The groups are fun, we all learn at different levels, and there is absolutely no judgement from anyone. I would highly recommend it, even if you come alone—I did!

Our new crochet and chat group starts next Monday on the 20th July 6:30-8:30pm!

Join us for a relaxed weekly crochet and chat group where you can bring your own project, meet fellow crocheters, share ideas, and enjoy a friendly evening of stitching and socialising.

✨ Bring your own project
✨ Friendly, supportive atmosphere
✨ Open to anyone comfortable working on their own crochet projects
✨ Come when you can, weekly attendance not required.

£5 per session to help cover hall hire, with the price potentially reducing if we get more people joining regularly.
Any extra after room fees will go to a class fund.
