🌟 Discovery Pathway Sports Day - Monday 22nd June 🌟

We are all looking forward to Monday’s Sports Day! 🎉 If you are attending, please park at the Cricket Club car park 🚗 (what3words: ///horseshoe.earlobes.jetliner), arriving at 1.45pm for a 2.00pm start ⏰.

Given the potential forecast, can we please ask you to ensure that your child has applied sun cream before they arrive at school AND that they have a bottle in their bag that can be used to reapply before we head out to the field.
Shaded areas for the learners to use between events will be provided. If you could also provide them with a hat 🧢, we would be very grateful. 🙏

Don’t forget your own running shoes ready for the parents’ race! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Willow class had a lot at sports day today, it was so nice having all the parents join us. The learners did great work exploring their throwing skills, rolling a ball to knock over some skittles, developing their jumping skills on the trampette and balancing on stepping stones. They also enjoyed having a water fight using their throwing and aiming skills, they showed a lot of resilience and perseverance throughout. We are proud of all of you!

This week, Maple Class enjoyed a fantastic Maths lesson all about following simple routes and using directional language. The pupils worked together to help Phil find Holly Class by giving him clear step-by-step directions through the school.
Using their knowledge of positional and directional language, the children carefully planned the route and demonstrated excellent listening and teamwork skills throughout the activity. The real-life challenge provided a fun and meaningful way to practise giving and following directions, and it was wonderful to reach their end goal of holly class. Well done, Maple Class! 🌟

Cherry class began the first of their group walks to our local post office and shop today. We are exploring our local community's facilities and so we posted a letter to school to see how long it will take to get to us. Having walked brilliantly there and back, they chose to spend their own money on a little treat for being so confident, communicating so well and being safe at all times. We are very proud of their efforts!
